Another leech bleeding us dry, getting paid to sit around playing playstation all day while his little knee heals FFS.

Should have booted him out of the club months, if not years, ago. Quite clearly would never be good enough for us from the outset. And now this.

Wages and treatment will be covered by insurance.
Heartbreaking to be honest. Had plenty of potential and always put a shift in.

It's got to be a pretty miserable time for him. As a thought do the club do anything with long term injured players? I'd try and get them involved in the business side, sign them, up for qualifications etc. It'll help with motivation and give them skills for after their career. Sitting around in their pants playing FIFA is not going to be productive.

If that's posted in jest then it's in poor taste. It it isn't in jest then you're an unpleasant person.

I doubt he could give a single **** what is posted on this messageboard when he's sat at home playing championship manager while raking in thousands of pounds a week.

We now have a player on our books who was never ever going to get into the matchday squad taking up time and resources for no reason at all. We will then get him to full fitness and he'll leave the club. It's a ridiculous state of affairs.

Yes it's sad for him personally, but football is a business and this is bad for business.

I'm a watford fc fan, not a tommie hoban fan.

**** me you're edgy. I wish I was as edgy as you.

  7. Relegation Certs

Is it edgy? Or just a statement of fact?

Why keep players that have had plenty of opportunities to prove they are good enough for the first team, but have been proven not to be good enough?

For the good of him and the club, he should have been moved on. It's not my fault you are too dim to grasp these concepts.

I was fortunate to meet Tommie at the end of season awards at Shendish Manor when he won the young player award.

He was very personable and humble and not at all corrupted by the fairytale world that is football.

If he is unfortunate enough to have read your presumably tongue in cheek post I would imagine he was at best confused and at worst hurt.

    Some compassion wouldn't go amiss.

he's done his knee in, not got ebola.

    some perspective wouldnt go amiss.

I truly hope that your wife/partner never gets a serious illness and you have to rely on your employers kindness to enable you to have a lot of time off to care for her

I hope we give Hoban as much time and care as he needs

Hopefully you're trying to be funny. Otherwise, **** me you're a miserable ****.

Players get injured and the club has a responsibility towards them. He had/has a lot of potential, so there was every reason for him to be on our books.

Personally I don't care if he's sitting around watching youporn. The club can afford it and have a duty to help him and I have no doubt they will (with surgery and physio rather than porn I assume).

let's twin our facilities with watford general then shall we seeing as we have unlimited cash. Let's get a few old grannies in for some post-op care. They've about as much chance of getting into our team as tommie ******* hoban anyway

I think somebody has a personal issue/run-in with Hoban (or he's just winding people up..)

I find the "ignore" button a fantastic way of dealing with bores.

Back to the topic have we actually got a return date for zarate or will we never see him play in a Watford shirt again? He was a useful pereyra backup the one time he did play!

Spotted him on TV watching from the tunnel entrance. So he's around. I also realised he looked a bit like Ferris Bueller.

No issue with the player, I wish him a speedy recovery. I just wish he was recovering at someone else's time and expense. It irks me that our staff will be spending the next six months nursing back to full fitness a player who will never ever play for us.

As ever, my number one priority is the success of watford fc, and the pursuit of the first ever trophy in our history. Things like this dont help with that endeavour.

    As do we all.
It's what insurance is for and will likely cover in this case. It'll be net no, or little cost.

But this won't be at the expense of other players and it's what the staff are trained & paid to do, why does it wind you up so much?

It's all our priorities. No things like this don't help, but they're not done on purpose and must be immensely frustrating for the player. A little compassion (or simply not commenting) goes a long way. I work all day on a computer. If a filing cabinet fell on my hands breaking all my fingers I wouldn't expect my employer to fire me. Essential workers in sensibly run businesses are insured. Unless he starts suing the company through one of the ambulance chasing companies I find it difficult how anyone can sensibly criticise.

It's been said by a few but I genuinely cannot fathom why we seem so injury prone. At this rate next season's kit will be like a yellow Michelin man suit to protect the players.

I'm not saying we should fire him, I am just baffled why we've persevered with him rather than getting rid, and now this. As that 90s hippy chick would say (also in the wrong context): isnt it ironic, dont you think.

I dont care much beyond posting it on this messageboard. Though I'll probably say something about it to my mates on saturday too. They'll probably call me a daft little **** admittedly.

He was injured at work. He is the Club's responsibility.
They are insured for this sort of thing.
He grew up as a youngster through the Academy and he deserves our support and encouragement.

No it wasn't, he ran into Salah very hard trying to tackle him and there was a weird connection made you could see instantly it wasn't right.

Very different circumstances. Hoban is on a contract with the club and will also receive the best medical care money can buy. It's a bad injury but not exactly life threatening.
Very different to what you are comparing it to.
I'm not as harsh as Relegation Certs but I always find it a little strange when you hear about a footballer getting a bad injury and on the radio/tv they are talking as if they have months to live.
I do feel for Hoban though.

One more and he should write it off and go Eddie Howe.

Send him around the world to study football and we'll make a Nagelsmann of him yet.

Hahahaha some of you are talking about Hoban like he's terminal.

Boo hoo he injured his knee again, he's getting minimum 3k a week. In about 3 months he probably makes this boards average yearly salary. Yes, money doesn't equal happiness but it does half help!

He can recover now, get released and go play League One football for the rest of his life and be comfy.

Quite frankly the guy was being a total t@@t and only understands extremes.

Any company should look after their staff whether they are injured/ill or anything out of their hands occurs to them
