We have and always will be a selling club. With that in mind I'd like to see the rookery stand renamed the Paul furlong stand and the vic road stand named the Bruce dyer stand, coz that's how Petchey paid for the ****er s

 

I am sure everyone on bere will have a different idea of what defines a selling club. For me it is a team that actively sells to survive, with a recruitment and development policy to facilitate such a strategy. We haven't been that since the Pozzos got here, though the popular impression at the time was that we would become the ultimate selling club in that respect.

Ultimately, that may be where we do end up; but with the intention of funding a top six challenge, and European campaigns rather than just survival.

 

We don't need to be a selling club because the PL hands out wheel barrows of tv cash, and hasn't even yet scratched the surface of online pay per view opportunities.

 

Yep, it’s more like, everyone has a price. That coupled with the individuals desire to leave. The latter plays more of a role then the former.

 

The Pozzos stopped us from needing to be a selling club the moment they took over, that was particularly useful while we were in the championship. The PL is a different kettle of fish altogether, no club in the PL needs to be a selling club, especially a club that has been there for a couple of years or more. Any club in the PL that has decided to become a selling club (greedy short sighted owners) has inevitably paid the price sooner or later. So we are no different to any other normal PL team, we don’t need to sell anybody, but there will almost certainly be situations in the future when we do sell to another club who is more attractive to one of our players than we are.

I have a feeling that Gino is going to sell all the Crown Jewels this summer so that he can launch a realistic bid to buy the actual Crown Jewels from the queen, who needs to feed her ferocious gambling habit stemming from the depressive hole she fell into after her Annus Horrilibus.

 

If the Queen places a few quid on Watford getting into Europe for next season she might just have enough winnings to but back the Jewels from Gino.
