I wouldnt shed a tear. He's well overrated and obviously couldnt give a toss about us (I dont blame him for this, why should he?). He wouldnt get near a top 6 teams first eleven so is destined to spend a year on someones bench then end up in a midtable spanish team I suspect. It's well worth remembering that we had more points when jurado was in our team too.

I like his spirit, but his playing ability is far too erratic.

 

Hmmm. He's only 20, in his first season in England, and has played continuously for longer than the rest of our squad. His attitude has been excellent and he works hard on the pitch. What's not to like?

He was probably never going to use us as more than a stepping stone, but if Gino makes a good profit on him and spends the money well, everyone's a winner. He might spend a bit of time on the bench at a top club while he learns more aboutt he game, but I don't doubt he'll have a very good career, injuries permitting.

 

Ronaldo didn't look all that in his first season at Utd, but look what happened there, if you are seriously going to write off a most promising 20 year old as not having potential, then there is no pleasing you is there.
Admittedly he's no Gabbadini!!

 

Don't get me wrong I don't dislike him and think he's decent, but I don't think he'll ever be top tier.

For as long as we are in the prem there'll never be a proper fans favourite. They are ALL mercenary ****s (I don't blame them for it, that's just how it is).

When we get relegated we'll get attached to the players again (unless we sign Gabbiadini obv)

 

If any player has an issue with Silva being sacked then they should at the very least take a look at themselves as part of the catalyst that caused it.

 

Jamie Moralee didn't look all that in his first season. Just saying. You never know.

 

Yes we will never have a legend like Barnes again. Looked the business from day one. Had the audacity to go Liverpool after 6 years and rarely mentions us. Will consequently never be inducted into the pantheon of Watford greats.

 

I think he's got something special.

His ability to get past a player like there was no one else there is one thing, but it is particularly difficult to get that combined with mental/ physical attributes such as strength, aerial ability and work rate.

I think he'd actually look better in a top 6 team, as the opposition couldn't double up on him as easily.

Next year, injuries permitting, he'll likely be at a very big club.

 

If he is better than Iwobi, that's at least one top 6 team he would improve.

 

He'll be top tier alright. Just got some maturing to do which is natural at his age.

 

He'll also be better when he's not playing 60 odd games in a calendar year !!!!!!

 

If he was a good finisher, he would already be pretty much world class, but he's not, he's woeful. However, this is an area that can improve with maturity, so it wouldn't surprise me if he ends up a top, top player.

 

I think "woeful" is a bit harsh...but it is an area of his game that needs to improve.

Someone has linked this story from Brazilian press on Twitter. I can’t translate but the jist seems to be that they are saying he wants out and we would demand £50m. Allegedly.

 

Hope he gets a rest on Saturday. Holebas LB and Zeegelar LW. Both can defend a bit. Should make 1 proper back between them.

We'll tell all suitors that he's under contract and he's staying whatever he wants. He'll sulk, not put any effort in, underperform and then we'll sack him 10 games from now and pay off his contract. You heard it here first .....

 

In all seriousness I hope Gracia puts an arm round his shoulder pretty damn quick. He's a young lad, half the world from home, and he'll understandably be unsettled.

 

Yes. But if he wants to reach the heights that no doubt he does, it won’t be the first time a manager he likes gets sacked. What’s he going to do? Just follow Silva everywhere?? He’s gonna need to toughen up quickly.

And even if he does want to go, we will want a lot of money given his potential and I doubt there will be a club willing to pay that price considering the amount he has dropped off. He should concentrate on recapturing his form and playing for Gracia - the move will come eventually if that happens.

 

Yes with Silva and his portugese coaches gone and Gomes off with a bad back the lad has no one to talk to.

 

Cut him some slack - he probably heavily relied on silva and gomes. Plenty of older players could do with toughening up

 

Cut him some slack? I’ve hardly laid into him! I’ve said he needs to toughen up - and he does if these stories are true. I don’t disagree that there aren’t others that could too. But I wasn’t talking about them.
