Global Werewolf - Day 3

Feeling the heat, the representatives left Fes and returned home. Well, most of them anyway.

Berlin was already home when a second representative landed at Berlin Tegel. Most cities around the world had resumed normal life after the big celebrations but immediately the visitor realised something was strange in Berlin. The streets were empty, shops and bars shut and there was barely a car on the street. It was almost as if the country was in mourning already. Strangest of all to the visitor were the Finnish flags hanging from buildings and poles around the city. If it wasn’t for the Brandenburg Gate in the distance, the visitor would have been worried he was in the wrong city.

The visitor made it to Berlin’s house and paused outside until the clock struck 12. ‘What on earth is that wailing sound?’ he asked himself. Slowly, he opened the door and entered the house. In the front room, the lights were off. The curtains were closed.

Eventually, Berlin heard the visitor through his tears. Rather than panic, he turned around calmly and the visitor noticed he is holding a framed picture. Berlin tries to regain composure. His voice broke as he explained, ‘Life hasn’t been the same since my brother was killed. I should have done more to help him. Death tonight will bring me closer to him’. The wolf wasn’t one for arguing and his claw slashed across the neck of Berlin, ending his life instantly. Before leaving, the wolf lifted the photo. ‘A photo of Berlin and Helsinki? How strange’ remarked the wolf.

Berlin was good.

Elsewhere, Rio landed back in Brazil and decided to chill at the Copacabana beach for a bit. The sun began to set and once he wrapped up his volleyball game, he decided to head home. It wasn’t unusual for a crowd to gather around a volleyball match but one person in particular was paying close attention to Rio.

Rio navigated the busy streets of Rio De Janeiro and eventually got back to his house. He lived in a busy neighbourhood so took no notice of the visitor following from a distance. The time was 11.30pm. ‘Hmm, it’s a little early for my visit’ thought the visitor who decided to spend some time at the bar at the end of Rio’s street.

After finishing his Brahma, the bar man enquired if the visitor wanted another. ‘No thanks, I only like one drink before a meal’ responded the visitor. ‘You won’t find much food around this part of town at this time, it’s nearly midnight! There is no food in this area anyway, only people’. ‘That will do me’ replied the visitor.

The visitor left and approached Rio’s house. Rio was lying asleep in his room, oblivious to the beast that stood over him. He didn’t even give him a chance to wake before slicing through his Rinaldi shirt and flesh with one swipe. Rio was dead.

Rio was good.

Having spent the previous night in Nairobi, The Guardian fancied a change of scenery. They disembarked their plane and visited Saint Basil’s Cathedral - Moscow’s house. Again, it was a quiet night for The Guardian and they returned home after another stress free night.

Today's Mayor is Nairobi.

Today's game will end at 6pm.

 

Seems like a terrible evening. Two masons down? Eesh. Evil back in the game. Guardian having a bit of a mare.

Damn. Two more down and another mason gone. The Guardian hasn’t been much help so far. Yes, we really need a useful viewing today. Seer, over to you....

 

Well that was a bit of a disaster, although Fes as the tinker could have caused more distraction if viewed by the seer nearer the end. We need to get a wolf today.

 

I know who I'm voting for today...unless the messages change my mind.

Forgive me for late start in mourning for another bro , so tinker gone , helpful in the long run, looks like the random hail Mary shot did some good.

 

So far, the following players voted for the lynched, good player on both nights. Is likely that one wolf is among them? It's in a wolf's interests to make sure that a player being piled on is confirmed as dead, although for some random reason, Fes's death was pretty certain, so a wolf might not have needed to add their name to the tally.

Bad night. The guardians choices have been a little baffling so far.

Need to read the write ups a bit closer. Missed the reference to Fes being the tinker (presuming that's what it means). Not terrible to have a wolf and a tinker down in two days.

Not a particularly good night all in all.

Reading it back I think we’re okay to assume that Fes was the Tinker, though difficult to be absolutely certain of it seeing as he was never formally viewed.

Will await messages before casting any suspicion, but funny how the early message of yesterday has not appeared today...

If the seer was posting very early messages first then that would have continued.

 

Would just point out I didn’t pile on yesterday. Voted earlier than nearly everyone based on Fez’s low post count, which seemed as good a reason as any.

I did think that but it's a bit of a stretch to go that far from that translation. If the first message is from the seer they are doing team evil a massive favour by mentioning Shakespeare. If the second message is from the seer they have thrown a spanner in the works with the additional quotes.

I can sort of understand why the seer viewed Nairobi today as they were protected by the guardian and with little else to go on. However I am swaying towards the second messages being the seer.

I wonder what the importance of Henry V is?

It could be a seer who is trying to be clever or hint at who they are. The problem is is that it's almost having the opposite affect as we are trying to decipher what they are trying to say.( this in answer to my letters spelling seer hint theory).

To ensure their safety? Thinking back on it you are right. If the alpha has picked up on it it will be interesting to see who they pick tonight.

Thoughts please. I still think message 1 from yesterday is worth re-visiting. Even more so in the absence of an early ‘trademark’ message this morning:

Yesterday I posted early, my trademark you see. I told you Helsinki was good but now he’s only good for reindeer food. The wolf’s silly Shakespeare quote got you all in a dither. Today I viewed Nairobi. Another for team good. Try not to feed the lions this time.

I believe the Shakesperian quoting messages are the Seer, so could the Alpha be one of these?

 

Not particularly easy for the Guardian during these early stages, hopefully they'll start picking up on who is good and who is not today.

 

Not an ideal start but hardly catastrophic. Will wait for the messages before debating further

Well the trademark looks dead. And Nairobi has had a busy few days - protected by the guardian on Day 1, named in a message on Day 2 and now the mayor today. Though that means nothing especially as the mayor thing is random.

Suggesting that the message is from someone who is keeping on the quiet side in the threads?

 

Worth noting:

Being protected by the Guardian at such an early stage with not a lot to go on isn’t particularly significant.

As for being named in the message - we’ve seen elaborate double bluffs before in these games... He may have been named good, but up until this morning every message has named somebody as good...

Protected by guardian - something I had no control over
Named in a message - means either I'm confirmed good, I was randomly named by the Alpha or I am the Alpha and decided to throw my own name in my own message (I'll leave others to decide which is most likely)
Now the mayor - as you say - random and decided by The Globe, so again, something I have no control over.

Explain yourself.

 

Clarification as I received a PM about the appointment of the Mayor - The mayor is randomly selected by a script which takes all remaining player names minus those who have already been Mayor. I do not pick someone myself.

 

Prague asked for analysis of a message which I couldn't see a lot could be pulled from. Maybe my ask a silly question, get a silly answer tone didn't come across?

 

Some were banging the drum of Oslo's innocence yesterday after accusing them the day before. Second message will be very interesting.
