I just don’t see this happening.

This late in the window, chance of Europe, chance of a trophy and we are going to loan/sell one of our best players, no chance.

I think the Italian media are a disgrace for pushing through with this love for Milan agenda. We said no, yet they keep printing made up stories. The only story I can believe is the one where Gino has said, alright you want him, £25mil now, in cash, no installments, no loan with option to buy, just straight up £25mil now.

Not that I believe it but if they want swap deal they can sod right off with Borini.

We will take Suso, Cutrone, Musacchio, Calhanoglu, Kessie or Romagnoli. They are the only players that would improve our squad.

I think he is totally disinterested in playing any more for us. When he was warming up on the side-lines on Saturday he was not doing any arm waving. Meaning he was not doing any exercises that related to what he would do on the pitch if he came on.

Honestly we shouldnt be even considering it. Hes done well for us and is key to how we attack.

If we got Borini I would cry. He is ****.

He's done okay. He could do much better IMO. Rarely lasts 90 minutes, drifts in and out of games and is inconsistent. If he can sort out the last 2 of those 3 things, he's worth keeping for sure. If Gino and Gracia don't think he can...and can replace him with someone better at the above attributes, then so be it. I just don't think thats possible in January though.

To be honest, I don't think there could be any truth in this tweet.

Several reasons. A loan, so we don't pick up any money right now, apart from the standard loan fee. A £25m price at the end of the loan...….is that really all that tempting? That's low for a player of his ability and potential. I know we got him for £11.5m plus £3.5m in add ons, but that was a serious piece of impressive business. I feel the reason the deal was so good was Barca had included a big sell on fee. This is normal for Barca to do this. So if we sold for £25m, even if we didn't pay any of the add ons, we'd only be making around £6m profit from this deal.....in all probability.

The impact on the team would be huge IMO. Ok, we are annoyed by his big missed chances in games, but he makes things happen. He is a constant threat to our opponents. Without a striker, it's him and Pereyra that are giving us this ability to score goals. Take him out of the equation, goals will dry up, I'm sure of it.

What does this tells the fans and players about our ambition? How could you seriously convince a good play to stay or sign when it's clear well sell anyone decent at the first opportunity.

You can get £25m for a player like GD at any time. It's not an OTT fee.

You could say the player is pushing for it...….but the club hold all the cards. We have him on a 5 year deal only signed in August. Even the player and his agent would feel awkward about pushing for this move so vigorously in this window.

These are all the reasons why I am convinced the player is going absolutely nowhere in this window.

We’re going to look back on this next January after another 12 months of inconsistency, unfulfilled potential and petulance, as we send him on loan to Turkey, and wonder why on earth we turned down 25 million for him.

But until then, we shall enjoy the flashes of brilliance that keep you coming back for more.

It was a disgrace to see him hauled off last night, and with 30 mins to go! I'm not surprised he wants out. Imagine getting replaced by isaac success week in, week out.

Just **** off gracia you gurning ****wit.

Thats the beauty of the English language. Its malleability and flexibility means it is an ever evolving , living organism.

Thus, in a thousand years time my mixed metaphor will make complete sense.

"I'm proud that other clubs are interested in me, but we're professionals. Now my club is Watford, in a year, five, or ten we'll see where I'll play. But I'm a pro. I signed a long contract and I am committed to Watford."

    - Gerard Deulofeu

This is a first class attitude. Not all players are like this, and even though he's a player who attracts a lot of interest, he is honourable. I really like that in a modern player.

I agree, but it would have been better to have written it as soon as the interest was shown, though, rather than after any deal fell through.

Great attitude. Time to get his head down and play like he can more consistently rather than when it suits him.

Nice to hear him say this, although we all know it means nothing in football really. On his day he is up there with the best in the league, unfortunately his days are not frequent enough so that's why he plays for us. He has plenty of time to improve though and one day could net us a really tidy sum. Keep it up Gerard.

We will see in 4 months or so if he is hauled off during each game for being so ineffective how he feels ..

I don't think he's played in his best role for us. He's been used as a square peg, because of our lack of strikers and also, because Javi's system requires a wide man to be more supportive of the full back.

I completely agree. You hit the nail on the head regarding the wide men too, his defending isn’t good enough to allow him to play as a winger for us at the moment. I would like to see him in an attacking midfielder role behind two strikers, but it feels like we could say that about several of our players.
