I believe this was a rehash of an old American series. Look hard enough online and I believe there's loads of older series to go through.

Just finished season 2 of succession. Honestly, do watch it if you haven't already.

Was not expecting Kendal to do that, but was Logan egging him on to do that - or will he fight back with the dirt he has on him?

I’m just at the end of season one so haven’t revealed your spoiler.

Honestly the best thing I’ve ever watched

I would also add, the bit when Greg did coke for Kendal and then Tom turned up had me laughing uncontrollably, just so good.

Bad news on Ozark - series 4 will be the last:

That's a shame, glad Arrested Development is being ended though. It massively went down hill after season three.

Ozark is very entertaining, but it’s no loss if the next series is the last. It could easily outstay its welcome.

About to start season 6 of The Sopranos, don't want it to end.

    Ozark up next I reckon.

Just reached that point myself. Might limit myself to an episode per night to make it last...

I’ve now finished it so can read your spoiler...

I fully expected Kendall to do that... but thought instead he’d come clean about the boy instead of what he actually said. It didn’t occur to me that his dad might have actually wanted him to do it though, can’t wait for season three

I have it on NowTV which isn't very user friendly, but does have Sopranos, True Detective, Westworld, Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones.

BBC2 Once Upon A Time In Iraq. An illuminating series from the perspective of those we did not really hear from. Iraqi civilians, journalists on the ground and the soldiers. The effect it has had on them. Nothing is ever black and white but all shades of grey.

Anyone been watching calebs go dating ? It’s very insightful watching how they date real people and what happens .

You can see the effect it has had on him. Not just him but the journalist whose attempt to get his photo led to the death of one of the soldiers he was embedded with. Too many people live in a comfort bubble and deep down don't really understand the effect war has on individuals.

I watched the first episode of "The Deceived" on Channel 5 on Monday, thought it was pretty bang average.

The Mrs already loves it though because it's got that bloke from that painfully dull Irish romance drama that the world of women seemed to love recently and some bloke from Hollyoaks.

  26. a19tgg

Yeah same that advertised but no intention of watching it, remember thinking it seemed a bad move for that lad from Normal People with his stock so high to end up in a C5 programme.

The Sinner on Netflix has been decent. Bill Pullman plays a friendly detective who likes being tortured by a sex worker in his spare time. I’ve seen it described as a ‘whydunit?’ rather than a ‘whodunit?’ as each series starts with a murder and then Gentle Bill scratches his beard and probes the murderer’s past.

The first series with Jessica Biel was great. Second slow but had some good twists. There’s a third series we’ve not started yet.

If you like some true crime. I'll be gone in the dark. Series about the chase for the Goldenstate killer. Will now have to read the book. A really well done documentary series.
Outcry. Frightening story of misjustice and how it ruined a teenagers career into American football.

  29. Carpster

Agreed. I would say the third even slower, I believe I made it to episode two before I'd had enough.

Ah I was hoping it would pick up again.... Might give the third one a miss. Still, we’ll always have the first series.

Thinking about it now, Series 2 is actually pretty bad.

Vera had no backstory and after setting her up to be a complete nutter by showing her dancing around the rock in the barn early on it doesn’t go anywhere.

It makes no sense that Merin (sp) creeps into her son’s room in a cloak and scares the **** out of him. Unless it only happened once and he keeps dreaming it, it’s never made clear.

The cult guy is the least charismatic cult leader ever and seriously looks like Afolf Hitler minus the tache.

When they find the body in the lake it’s just tossed aside when they realise it isn’t who they thought it was.

The obstetrician stabbing himself in the neck was silly.

I forget her name but Merin’s police officer friend just accepts that she’s either in a cult or dead. Again in terms of backstory it’s a bit thin, she doesn’t know her dad, smokes weed and kisses another girl a bit = Troubled enough to join a cult and selfdestruct.

The real father twist was unexpected but ultimately added nothing to the story. They could have cast a kid that looked even slightly like one of the parents.

The bookmark clue from the motel Merin escapes to is stupid, Scooby-Doo level ****.

Well I enjoyed it. One for @Clive_ofthe_Kremlin: that "...Caribbean Curry..." that expert cooked it looked absolutely disgusting (worse than what the Swedish chef produced) and I thought plantains were supposedly served as a savoury vegetable?

  32. Clive_ofthe_Kremlin

Well it depends on the type of plantain. Mostly you're right - they're savoury. Especially yer MACHO or green plantain, which I've never seen served any other way than savoury. This one is my favourite!:-

This is often done in 'tostones' which are the perfect combination for rice 'n' beans. Ciff is experta en los tostones like this:-

Then there's yer MADURO plantain which some people call medio pintado or half painted. These are softer and sweeter than the macho. More banana-ey taste too. Don't like these slimy suckers so much. They're still usually a part of dinner though and can be served with pottage or chicken or whatever. However I have seen Mexicans and Ecuadorians and what have you at festivals roasting these and then splitting them down the middle (a la Wimpy banana split) and putting a sweet cream cheese down the middle. The dirty, dirty bastards.

In Cuba the maduro is normally fried in slivers and end up a little bit slimy and greasy like this:-

Then there's yer BURRO or donkey plantain. A ridiculous little stubby thing that NOBODY likes very much but which grows very well. The taste is not good. In the difficult times though, you should see the people come running when they hear that the shops have even Burro plantains in though...

There are many other varieties, but I can tell the audience is starting to lose interest.....

The problem I have with Bill Pullman is that his expression is permanently that of someone who has just smelt a fart.

Also the third season is very enjoyable.

I know that many trekkies were upset that Seth MacFarlane's "The Orville" (which incidently I like) wasn't a full-on p1$$take of the show. I've just watched the 'officially sanctioned' version "Star Trek: Lower Decks" and it was 'alright'.

FWIW I thought 'Picard' was a load of shyte (apart from ep 7) and through a strange journey that started with "The Borg Fan Collection" (DVD 50p in charity shop) to "The Klingon Fan Collection" (a few quid in cex) my son and I ended up watching DS9 from S03 (when Worf arrives). I have to admit that the penultimate series was good with the final series being some very good TV.
