Swansea v Southampton will need to be re-arranged.

hm..the big teams kept apart (if they get through) for the Quarters.

Mind you look what we did at Arsenal...

I would usually watch any game of football if it's on tv or at least have it on in the background while doing other things but I've literally not watched an ounce of live football this weekend.

You wonder why the FA Cup has lost it's appeal?

Because it's stuck on bloody ppv tv channels. That's where the appeal of the cup is gone. I have literally zero interest if I can't watch barely any of it.

This is where the soul of football is being lost Lawrenson.

(M)eh? There's live FA cup games on the BBC today and tomorrow. There has been as least one live game on the BBC since the first round and then there's regular MOTD FA cup round ups and all this is available on iPlayer.

1 game all weekend (excluding tomorrow) and we have to wait until 4pm on Sunday.

    It's boring. Dull.

FA cup MOTD was on Saturday evening.. at the same time you see the first Premiership highlights every week. Oh and there's no live league football at all on non pay tv.

Aren’t the PL, Championship (at least, live in both cases) and the Champions League also stuck on pay channels?

You see more free live games from the FA Cup than those competitions.

EDIT: I see great minds think alike!

I at least have an interest in the league because I have a team in it. How am I supposed to be bothered about a competition that my team isn't in that I can barely watch any games in.

My point is no one is going round saying the league has lost it's magic but they seem so obsessed with saying the cup has, and this is why.

25% of the games in this round are on free TV. That’s hardly ”barely any”.

I think there are other reasons for “lost magic”. Primarily, big clubs taking the CL and PL much more seriously than the Cup. I’m also inclined to think that stringing it out over four days doesn’t help, and neither does messing around with the draw (why on earth was that last night?).

Plus, the ties this time weren’t especially appealing to neutrals. At least the two remaining ones have a whiff of possible “magic” about them.

But you can watch games. What do you expect exactly? Live FA cup games at 3pm on a Saturday.. when there has never been any live football on of any kind.

There again if your not interested in it because we've been knocked out then what does it matter anyway.

All I'm saying is if you want me to have some kind of interest in a competition my team isn't involved in then you have to give me access to the games being played (and not just poxy motd highlights).

I'll be watching the game at 4pm today because I love watching football.

Two live games for free and the same highlights you get for league games. Can't understand what more you are asking for.. and your argument that the "soul of football" is being lost due to a lack of live games is a nonsensical one.. even if it were true.

They should stagger all games every weekend to run from 1am Saturday until 11pm Sunday. So Watford v Everton at 1am, Norwich v Ipswich 3am, Plymouth v Oxford 5am, WBA v Southampton 7am and so forth.

If there's not enough games you fill the space at the ends with live punditry from The Merse and Lawro.

Now Gino’s money laundering scam has been exposed, we may be knocked out of the league as well.

Pep Guardiola acting like a classless winker. Clear red card. Lucky there was no contact with Power's leg. This after moaning about City players not receiving enough protection.

Guardiola is very quickly turning into a bit of a twanker isn't he.

I think he's been a winker pretty much all of his managerial career. Greatly overrated. Had Messi at Barcelona. I reckon Messi would turn us into PL contenders by himself. Chequebook manager at Bayern which is a one team league and ditto here. Oh dear a player is injured. Let's buy another and unsettle another club. Wenger has got one thing right.

The financial power of certain clubs especially those fuelled by petrodollars is ruining the domestic competitions in several countries.

Entitlement. Footballing royalty. Their fans are fast becoming if not more unlikeable than United's. They seem to have forgotten for the most part where they have come from. At least you can say with United, Arsenal, Liverpool and for a short time Nottingham Forest their success is a result of great management setting the foundations.

    I still like City fans.

Years and years of misery. Many real Mancunian fans. Now they have money and they are Great. Fine with me. In 5 years time I might have a different view when the shirts are in all the playgrounds
