Being a Watford fan was depressing last season. Watching England just made me realise it could be worse. Hopefully this will now make people who want Hart at our club change their mind. Pickford and Butland both save those. They weren't even in the corners. His positioning was woeful for both. Embarrassing that we are celebrating a draw against Scotland.
Who's celebrating? It's the same old same story. I quite look forward to the game. It starts and within 10 minutes I return to the cricket and then,in between overs the doubles at Roland Garros. Predictable and frustrating with dismal keeping from both.Gordon must be Alan Rough's love child and why pick Hart who has been average for Torino, over Heaton? Having said that they were both stupid fouls to concede so late in the game. I gave up on friendlies a year or so back but I'm thinking of binning the others too.
Not a great advert for goalkeeping! Good job Kane did what he is best at. Would have never heard the end of it.
England fans celebrating that we didn't lose when we went 2-1 down. A point is better than nothing but how fans are celebrating our draw is embarrassing. I totally agree with you mate. Every time I look forward to the England game it ends up in total disappointment. Zero passion and effort from our boys yet again. We should have walked that Scotland the same Man City walked us on the last day. Not England though, let's have all the ball and waste it in the final third. Then when we go 1-0 up let's play defensive rather than kill the game off. I will always support England but each game gets more difficult to watch. Until we get a manager that picks the team on form and not club or reputation, we will always be rubbish.
England got what they deserved. I don't buy into the theory that we have no world class players. The Spurs trio alone (Kane, Ali and Walker) would cost millions if sold (not that fees make them great, but there's no denying that they're excellent players even if you hate Spurs). For me it's down to the coach again. We keep saying that they're awful no matter who's in charge - but look at the type of coach the FA keep putting in charge! Capello - a negative Italian coach that couldn't speak English (that sounds familiar); Hodgson - no explanation necessary; and now Southgate - a "yes" man with zero tactical nous, uninspiring style of play and no track record in the game as a manager at all. The only thing imo he has over Mazzarri is that he can speak English, otherwise I'd rate Wally as a better coach. Our players are head and shoulders above Scotland's, yet we got out of jail because their goalkeeper is worse than ours. We'll qualify as usual, and stink the place out when we get there. The sad thing is that unlike when I was younger, I'm really not that bothered anymore as the FA has made me totally apathetic towards the England team.
Gee whiz, none of this has ever been suggested before. As long as the morons keep going to games, keep spending the money at Wembley and buying the shirts, the sponsors of the FA will be happy.
Not an easy place to go to, even the Germans struggled a little while back and conceded two from open play, I think? Commentator said we're now 35 game undefeated in Qualification games which isn't too bad, regardless of the level of opposition we've had to play. Jake ******* Livermore though?
Agreed,I must admit I did a double take when I saw he was playing. He wasn't the only under performer though.
Nope. Once again Hart left far too much of the goal wide open on a free kick and got beaten. He's extremely limited as a goalkeeper; shoot to his left hand side and more times than not you'll score. He's been poor since around 2013 when everyone worked this out.
Yeah, my main gripes were: - The attitude the players took to this game, they genuinely acted like they could walk all over Scotland - you'd of thought the fact that the Germans struggled recently would ensure that we wouldn't fall into the same trap. -Defence was sloppy, giving away the ball, trying to dribble out of danger. (Especially the fullbacks) -Kane far too isolated, could've done with switching the formation when it became clear we weren't going to be able to pass it through their defence. -Jake ******* Livermore -Rashford was very poor, kept giving the ball away, didn't seem to understand his role? -The Ox was immense when he came on, why didn't he start? -As JB said above, Hart was found out a while ago and you'd of thought he'd learnt from his mistake from the first free kick. As ever, the signs are there for an alright team, never going to be good enough to win anything but the foundations are there to build from and hopefully with the youngsters doing well at the moment we'll be able to get them up to the Senior level and start building around our competent players in the form of Dele and Kane. Something I noticed was the media didn't seem to scathing of the performance, perhaps the media and fans alike are starting to realise that we've never really been that good. After two years of watching Watford in the Premier League week in, week out, it's really of no surprise how **** we've been over the years, outside the top 4 or 5, the Premier League really is quite woeful.
I was surprised ol' big nose Southgate didn't get into trouble for waving imaginary yellow cards at one of the Scottish players from the touchline
One thing that did seem to get over-looked was the blatant second yellow card to the Scottish player that wasn't given shortly before the goal rush. But no excuses - Strachan got far more out of his limited players than Southgate did of ours. He's not the answer - stick with him and we'll qualify but do absolutely nothing when we get there (with the probable positive friendly result over decent opposition chucked in on the way so that the press can report how good we really are).
Scott Brown I think was the player. He makes James McClean look like Tinkerbell! I tend to agree about Southgate. All things considered he's a better tube station than manager.
Yeah I don't know why I bothered watching it. France go down to 10 men and embarrassed us. We will qualify for the WC but as per normal we will go out in the group stages. Southgate looked lost. I know it was only a friendly but you should never lose to a team playing with 10 men, unless of course you are playing Hull.
We do have some very good attacking players I think it's fair to say, but our centrebacks are all a bit rubbish at this level
Looking forward to watching England without Rooney in the team. Hopefully Chalobah gets a run out tonight.
