DAY 1 - Werewolf 2018

Not really strange as I've mentioned him and SLB ever since about 1.30pm as being non posters who suddenly piped up once being mentioned.

I am very very very (3 times) uncomfortable voting for Diamond as I think it proves absolutely nothing at all.

If he is good what does that prove? Nothing. If evil we just got lucky. We will lose a good team player for no reason.

I'm happier going on a hunch of tried and tested wolf tactics over a named good.

 

Or went through all the posts later in the day and then liked them... Such fuzzy logic.

 

I have kept my eye on someone for most of the day. HappyHornet.

She seems very reluctant to say anything too controversial. Filller posts and stating the obvious.

Probably nothing but thats how wolves have played in the past, doing their best not to upset anyone. Probably a load of others doing similar but hey ho thats where my vote is going.

Wont be on too much after this.

 

Perhaps you should check before asking? Or is that classic evil behaviour in misdirection and creating confusion?

 

There is no "outing" by the way, just someone thinking they're a lot smarter than they actually are. If you were a Wolf and were actively playing the game, rather than a Good player who'd just forgotten about it, could there be a worse tactic then saying nothing at all until people mentioned you and then posting soon after?

Daft - that was a complete facepalm moment about the likes. It has been a very hard day.

But I'll stand by the non activity by you and SLB until you were called out on it.

Can we give any constructive advice to the guardian for tonight? Norway or is that to obvious for the wolf to ignore?

 

Likewise, and I had a horrible weekend. Hence the lack of posts! Fair enough though.

In fairness to steve harrow he had posted before he was (incorrectly) named as a non poster.

Having played the game three times now, one of the biggest assets to Team Evil is a useful idiot. The kind of person that thinks they can see things others can't and pretends they know more than they do with lofty statements like "I know a couple of other things but will keep them to myself for the time being..."

I think you're probably good as you're too chatty on Day 1, but unfortunately may well turn out to be Team Evil's useful idiot if people start listening to you. The idea you've "outed" anyone is nonsense - as I explained above, it would be an idiotic tactic for a wolf to remain silent until after the second message and then react shortly afterwards when mentioned by name.

 

OK so everyone though the 1st message as from the wolf, until the 2nd message came and then that came from the wolf.

The wolfs task is to cause as much confusion as possible and to put as much doubt about people as possible, which is what the 2nd message does.

As usual there is a lot of speculation on day 1. It's only when someone is killed or proven to be good that we will start to know who's who.

I don't see any benefit whatsoever of voting off Diamond who may be useful in the long run. I don't see any reason for anyone else to vote for. So I've selected 2 people who have acted more wolf-like than anyone else to date IMO. As the past 3 games have shown, the quiet ones on the first day for turn out to be wolves.

What else would you suggest.

I could have just sat on the fence and followed the crowd. Hiding away.

It's day 1. There is no real reasoning with the 2 messages received.

I'm more likely to vote for you tomorrow though for the insult! But will take into consideration tomorrow's messages and readjust my thoughts accordingly

 

i've only skimmed through when i've returned home, but yes there are villagers saying the first must be from the wolf.

 

Thanks that actually makes a lot of sense and is helpful advice going forward.

A real shame if Diamond is good and sacrificed but I understand the logic.

 

I’m casting my vote for Diamond. I believe the first message is the seer and the second is the wolf. I expect diamond is probably good, but we have as good a chance as with anyone else at this stage.

 

Super weird logic since I've posted frequently since posting my first message, it's not like I laid low since but on the basis I just have an inkling it's neither Norway or Diamond I will return your vote back at you.

Quiet, yes. Not totally silent though. In my opinion, the wolves are far more likely to have commented early, not too many times and said nothing controversial.

Just think about it for a minute. Why would a wolf remain completely silent until some time after the second message and then start posting when people have pointed out they were silent? That suggests their tactic was to say nothing at all - well, inactivity is always one of the things that puts people in the firing line to get people lynched on Day 1. Surely a wolf is more likely to have posted in the morning, nothing controversial but enough to blend into the crowd? Also, as a matter of human nature, if you have an important role, you're far more likely to be looking forward to the game and remember it's actually taking place. I've never been a wolf but would imagine it's quite fun. You'd be more likely to post early in the day, to show you're just one of the confused villagers, not wait until after the second message. Your logic is **** about face.

I'm going to vote for PowerJugs. Posted early, everything is non-committal and for some reason he "liked" and then quickly "unliked" one of my posts. Could've been fat fingers, some sort of code I'm too dense to understand, or an attempt to curry favour by making sure I saw the notification that he liked it but had cancelled it before anyone else had seen it.

It's a guess but I can't bring myself to vote for Diamond as I'm pretty sure he's been eliminated really early in every game I've played, as he's widely considered a good player so the wolves have either marked his card or killed him straightaway.
