I feel compelled to remind you that we're 2 wins in 9 games now and with a decimated squad.

People are reacting, not to a bad result in isolation, but a pattern of failure which has emerged over games and which reflects long standing weaknesses within the very culture and fabric of the club.

If we'd beaten Burnley or Spurs, or Stoke or Everton then maybe people would not feel so hard done by, but we didn't and we haven't looked like a good team for a long while now.

Since we beat Arsenal in mid October, we've been a bottom 5 side in our performance and results and the decline is clear to see, as more players get injured and suspended whilst others seemingly run out of steam because we rely on them far too much, due to having no fit replacements.

There are significant problems and Silva and Gino will be well aware of them. You can't finish games with 9 men, 3 potential new injuries and a new suspension to add to an already crippling list, during the busiest playing programme of the season and you can't come away from surrendering an 87th minute lead to the worst side in the division without asking questions about your approach to games, otherwise you're just ignoring the fire all around you whilst you burn to death.

I think that is the most frustrating thing!

At least against Chelsea and Everton they still had the odd chance despite us being in top whereas Palace offered nothing apart from set plays.

Gomes hardly had a shot to save but let 2 in and was maybe at fault for the 1st?

Zaha for once managed to beat Janmaat and the ball drops to the man Cleverley would have been marking/

    TYPICAL!

Didn't even notice Femenia going off injured...

Stop overreacting. We were winning that game for 85 minutes! That's not to be sniffed at in this day and age.

The number of times we gave the ball away was embarrassing. We didn't play that well and of course should have wrapped it up by half time. Interestingly, on the Palace forums the general view is that they were awful, didn't deserve to win but of course will take it! They think Zaha is the only decent player they've got.

It could have been worse I suppose - what if Zaha had scored the winner rather than assisted...

The thing is it's not just one game that has caused this. How many points have been thrown away recently through lack of application, stupid tackles or simply not hitting the target when we should.

The issue is that we have great players that play well for a bit then it all collapses. We have strikers not hitting the target and a striker that was hitting the target who is inexplicably frozen out. Our injuries are ridiculous for the 2nd year running.

It's all stuff that we've had fair warning about but done nothing to resolve.

Football matches are 90 + minutes m8. It's the score at the whistle that counts.

I'm hopeful that next season the FA will bring in the much hyped 'were winning for most of the game but lost because they are actually **** despite the delusions of the fans, manager and owner' rule where we can pick up some extra points.

Yet again we were miles the better team but having the worst strikers in the entire league cost us dearly. I was a bit pissed but at no point in that game was I relaxed and enjoying our lead. Just felt anxious at all times, it's a ****** feeling. Our team is so mentally fragile.

Only gabbiadini can save us now.

Other than the chance he didn't get much service. Troy is an old school, hard working, battling player. You need all different types/styles i

You are highly critical of Deeney when it was TC that cost us the points (again)
You don't mention who some of the losses were against & the recent draw against TH that you would have taken before the game.

Understand you are frustrated at last night but we are 9th in the table.

Might be worth balancing your thoughts over the whole season so far, yes we have had a few unfortunate results but the histrionics on here post game is laughable.

Too many get over confident & think we are amazing when we string a few wins together & then these same people go into rage & despair when we have a few losses. Always predictable.

Already seen the Silva out/not all that posts..says everything.

No easy games at this level
    Still just little old Watford
3 years ago we lost to Yeovil
We nearly didn't even have a club to support
Take your medicine and enjoy it. 9th in the table is too good for us.

Sounds like an accurate assessment on their forums. Their team is Zaha and he was only one who looked liked he genuinely cared for 89 minutes

squad is down to bare bones again, like this time last season. Rich needs a rest and Bobby P is just mad from paper machet. There is no cover. I can see Amrabat and Berkhouse being recalled in Jan an possibly a supprise return for a striker.........

How much was he bought for? He's hardly been given a chance to be fair. If he's never going to get near the first team squad, why buy him?

Yes, but according to the BBC our goal was the only shot on target by either side in the first half. Better team yes, but not that good. Never seen Troy play worse, even this season.

If it's any consolation, I read today that Stoke haven't won a top-flight match on a Tuesday since 1906 - 111 years, if you think that's a typo. Not much of a consolation, though.

Thank you Knight GT but I'm rather afraid I don't!
The vomiting ceased but I still feel nauseous. Not helped by waking up in the night thinking about the misses by Deeney and Chas.
Perhaps Palace have become,in my eyes at least, the modern day Loon.In their absence I certainly feel there always seems to be major drama in our matches.
Similarly,as almost always seemed to be the case under GT,we managed to shoot ourselves in the foot or some contentious decision hampered us.( Disallowed goal at KR,brought back for a foul on Poskett,Wilf being sent off thanks to that swine Elliot.)
Perhaps this is exacerbated by my own situation and others are more ambivalent, but certainly I felt real hostility towards Palace last night.
Moreover Zaha must be the most disliked opposition player that I can remember.
Finally on this dismal morning,as I sit here one week away from the age that Elizabeth I faced The Armada, may I dispel one myth?
The notion that Selhurst Park has the best atmosphere.
That place was like the reading room at The Bodleian, apart from the HF drummer boy and half a dozen troglodytes.Only when they scored did they wake from their collective coma.
    Media hype.
Mr IBB is being uncommonly decent and almost Uriah Heep with his humility.
    This helps not one iota!

    Dear Vera,

Winter is here, trenchfoot has set in. It feels like we haven't registered a victory for months. Each time we push forward one step, the enemy pushes us two steps back. Morale in the camp is low. We lost Cleverley yesterday... Zeegelaar last week. Nobody has seen Sgt Okaka for months. Chalobah is still in the infirmary with a broken leg, Isaac escaped the hospital to rejoin the platoon but personally, I think he's a Section 8.

It's our third Christmas out here, we've been promised reinforcements in January but do they have the stomach for war? Some of the guys just see them as replacements, a temporary solution before they get cocky like Niang, or get KIA on day two like Lt Zarate. "Lemme get out there and slap a Claret", they all say. Well let me tell you about the Claret I know, the SOLDIER I know, they'll survive on a pork pie for two weeks and still have the fight in them. Captain Troy ate our entire supply in 3 nights. We now have to find strength to continue to May... a feat we have failed to achieve since Jokanovic was reassigned. God help us all.
