Close... but I think the wolf picked up on that.

What they didn't see was the full hint:

    Message 1:
    Message 2:
    Message 3:
    And finally, message 4:
I also had another couple of tricks up my sleeve if necessary!

Not that you were ever able to justify it mind! As a wolf your play style for really irritating to play against, you just seemed to be throwing out accusations without really explaining them. I was hoping that once Squibba was wrongfully killed you would lose some credibility but I never had the chance to point it out

With the lock down, I'm sure we could have a few games in the coming weeks. If someone does the next, I'll quite happily do another one later on.

AARRRGGHHH! Goddammit you have no idea how long I spent staring at the messages trying to figure out these damn clues!
Yes I'd picked up on the above and tried my best to be convincing but you outplayed me, well done sir!

Yep FML, I was going to get a wolfy friend back and immediately killed him, instant game over

I had a bit of a panic when I was reading the wolf's message on Day 3 and noticed they had picked up on the first two letters but hadn't noticed the end of the sentences! I'm going to keep the final clue to myself in case I need it for future games.

@hornetgags you we’re wrong about me chief......I was a villager until last night.

And for what it’s worth I have no grudges against @Grrwood for accidentally killing me. Always a possibility with a full moon.

It really was tenuous - sorry @GoingDown . I felt a bit guilty at the time, considering he was a first time player.

I often search for a clue that would allow me to point the finger early doors, mostly because we have very little to go on and it's more revealing to see how people react to being put in the spotlight. Something about his reaction made me way more suspicious than I was before, and as I thought LR was more likely to be good, I led the charge.

The thing that made me suspicious of Squibba was his post that GD was likely good as the Mod wouldn't made a first time player a wolf. Appeared to me like he was trying to use mistruths to sway the villagers after we had started to turn on GD (who was later found to be guilty).

Happy to run another one soon if we have no other takers. If I do it will be old school, Wolves, Traitor, Seer, village muppets.

Yeah I still think it was reasonable enough to go for Squibba at that point.

    Same thought process as me.

I didn't want to vote LR as statistically we had a better chance of killing evil if we went for someone else. Out of the rest, my suspicions were of GD simply due to the inexperienced message. I did mention though that it could be an experienced wolf trying to pin the message on an inexperienced player which is what ended up happening in the end!

I paid no attention to the character stuff. I thought that was a red herring from the off. Same with the reverse tinker talk, though I have to say the wolf in sheep's clothing fooled me. I accused GD because he seemed inconsistent and not helpful to our chances and in the absence of any other good suspects he was as good as any to lynch. Turned out he was a wolf so all's well that ends well.

Haha, no worries. It was fun trying to fend you off and I was bloody close to doing it too. As for your reasoning, as I said in the cemetery, you were either evil or a certifiable genius.

    Guess it was genius!

It took me an embarrassingly long time to notice that. I had to put everything out on Word and then it still took a while. Very impressive.

When I finally got it, I read it as first letter first line, first letter second line, last letter first line etc. but now I see it above I realise you probably designed it as first letter and last letter first line etc.

It was very unlucky that Otter missed out the first line of HHs post whilst C&P which threw me off course for a while (completely understandable for typos to occur Otter!). I couldn't understand why the seer would remove a key part of their consistent message, nor why you didn't think it was much of an issue!

I imagine you were sending messages to Otter to correct his mistake - I certainly would have been!

Whilst I was 'inexperienced', after the first day wolf message and the disaster first night, I was in a whole load of trouble and attempted both an 'error strewn' message and then played the fool to try and get through the day and reset on day 3. Wasn't a million miles away.

Of course - you certainly don't make many.

Apparently no one else really noticed, so not sure it made any difference whatsoever.

Yea, I had no idea what you were on about when you said the seer changed their style as I was confident I hadn't! When I scrolled back and looked I sent him a quick message before anyone else started agreeing with you.

Yea, wasn't an easy hand you were dealt. I think in my first game I was a mason and still ended up lynched very early!

Aside from taking out half of their team, I actually think the biggest mistake the wolves made was not killing you after day 1. You were clearly a good player in both senses of the word, and the guardian had already defended you.

You'd have been dinner by day 2 if I was a wolf.

I was a bit spooked by the guardian protecting me after the first day. On the first day I had tried to lie a little lower than usual (but not too much to arise suspicion) as I knew I needed to stay alive for as long as possible. Clearly the Guardian felt straight away that I was good.

After that, I decided to change tactic and become as active as possible. I figured the wolves would probably assume I'm good, but I was hoping they wouldn't think the seer would be as active. I dropped a few hints about the seer most likely lying low too to try and divert attention from myself. My hope was that instead of wasting a kill on me, they'd try and find the seer.

Was my plan for the night of day 2 but didn't survive. Glad to see it was a decent move.

You intended to go for nornironhorn because you thought he was the seer? Once voting had passed a certain point you should have ordered the other wolves to kill nornironhorn that night, it may have worked as the guardian had already protected him.

Could we get access to the cemetery? It's always fun to see what people were thinking as the game progressed.

How? I didn't know who the other wolves were. Should have I done that openly?

Once you were doomed, it wouldn't have mattered if you outed yourself or not, you were still going to get lynched. See moog's reaction to being cornered here http://wfcforums.com/index.php?threads/day-3-werewolf-2018.54654/page-7 , although he was the traitor in that game, he send instructions out which were followed by two of the wolves.

Even though you didn't know Grrwood was the other wolf, a simple exclamation "Fellow wolves, feast on nornironhorn, he's the seer" may have swayed him to go for nornironhorn.

To be fair, I didn't know that, thought it was an etiquette thing. It still was a tight vote at that point so it's unlikely I would have done it anyway.

Pretty sure if the others had been online all day, I'd have had Mike's number.

I had no idea Norn was seer, well played indeed.

Team Good got very lucky, with the virus and the wolf’s killing each other. I was a bit gutted to switch sides as I thought we had it in the bag from fairly early on.

I would be keen to play another game, I don’t have time to run it though.

  34. GoingDown

    GoingDown "The Stability"

I had it down as you or Mike as you both were heavily guiding the game. You focusing on the messages from minute one and Mike dissecting every word. I'm not saying I knew but my hope was Mike I get lynched and I'd choose you overnight.

In the absence of any other real idea, it was a shot in the dark. As was naming LR on day 2.
