"C&Ping" text from word processing package

One of the other sites I frequent (I can't remember if it's MSE or shemale-friend-finder) has its mods repeatedly requesting posters refrain from writing their posts in, presumably, "word" then c&ping onto the board. Two questions:

1. Why is this?
2. Do you "suffer" from whatever it does?

 

Moreover, how do they know?

 

For some reason, depending on version and settings in Word, c&p'd stuff can show as very badly formatted with some unintelligible characters. Done it and seen it myself.

A "friend" tells me he uses this link for all his shemale "action". HTH.
