Nice clip. All the angles clip for Bob's goal on Saturday against Wolves.

Watched it a few times, think it's in the top 5 goals we've seen since being back in the PL.

This goal has everything; firstly the aggressive pressing quick build up play, neat tikka takka triangles in the opposition penalty area & then a sublime individual Roy of the Rovers type finish the likes of which only certain players can execute. POTS candidate already.

And as strange as it is to say....a Juve reject, what does that tell you about the overall quality that you need in a team to be CL quality?!

I think his form this season is also a testament to giving players plenty of time to play themselves back into form after a long injury pay-off.

I’d imagine that we’ll see similar with Chalobah, in that we won’t see the best of him until next season as he finds his way back to full fitness and confidence.

Very true. I think it would be only natural for anyone coming back from a serious injury to be a little hesitant to throw themselves into challenges initially.

I think Pereyra is doing everything we could hope he could do creatively but he is also working hard and putting his body on the line defensively too.

All that video shows me is how much Foster should be booed roundly. Gomes knew how to celebrate a goal.

Harsh calling him a Juve reject.

He had the most appearances (52) the season Juventus won the league, cup and got to the CL final (he was their first sub used in both finals). He suffered a bad injury and by the time they got back he had been replaced which is what happens at those sort of clubs.

So which team will be quoted in tomorrow’s Sunday rags as offering a gazillion pounds for Bobby P? Everton have got to be favourites followed by their forum “if we want him we’ll get him”.

At the end of this season, he'll only have 2 years left on his contract. I suspect it will be at this time where we'll either extend his contract or cash in if he wants to move on.

He's 28 in January, so is probably at the peak of his powers (certainly in transfer value), although Ronaldo and his mate Messi are proving you can still operate at the highest level well into your thirties.

Special players are normally hard to attract. We've got two in Bobby and GD, also had Richarlison last season, so we're not bad at getting them. You should always sell at the highest optimum price, but only if you believe you can get an equally good player in, at a cheaper price to replace them. This is what Watford appear to be very good at doing.

Best player to wear the shirt since Barnes?

Yes no doubt about it. The only argument is whether or not he's better than Barnes I reckon.

Is definitely less of a throbber.

Has the ability to play for any team in the world, I genuinely believe that. His general class, footballing ability and quality with the ball is world class, it's obviously just been consistency and fitness that has balanced out against those things up to now, but that is starting to look to be a thing of the past.

He seems like a lovely bloke too, based on what I've seen on social media.

Is there any evidence out there that suggests otherwise? I don't want my heart broken

He is a class act off and on the pitch wherever he has been. He really has matured as a player from the skinny fragile winger he was when plying his trade for River Plate into an all round midfielder with tremendous stamina. I am sure you know about his tough upbringing in which his sole aim was to try and help his family out. A lot of players leaving a club like Juventus might come to a club like ours and sulk or think they are too good for us but there has been not a single instance where he has moaned or complained. And he is definitely a player to have in the dressing room. A very well like player in the Argentina selection. It might be something if the 1881 could come up with a song in Spanish for El Tucu.

All true except the bit about tremendous stamina. He does tend to disappear in the last 20 or 30 minutes, having packed 90 minutes of value into his play up until then

When he was at Udinese and Juventus this did not appear a problem and he did pop up with the odd goal late in matches. And he was a pretty industrious player. Perhaps he still needs to regain a little more endurance with more of his all action game appearing week by week.

Bit like saying Luther’s a Watford reject because he can’t make the match day squad any more.

Thanks for this. I didn't know much about him at all really. I just hunted down an article about his upbringing you mentioned. He's quite simply wonderful in every regard.

Noticed Pereyra brought his son onto the pitch after the game for a kick around - only trouble was little P wasn't very keen to kick the ball and did the toddler trick of looking elsewhere and pointing at people!

He doesn't seem to be celebrating his goals with as much gusto lately. That must surely count against him?

He did. The goal he scored on Saturday was celebrated with all the players and then after they were trotting back up the pitch, he turned around and on his own did a little dance in front of the family stand.

Learning from the Bournemouth players - just taking that little longer to celebrate..

Maybe it was in front of where his family were.

    of the glorious tattoo
    made the vital breakthrough
with a run so daringly impromptu
it left the Terrier's defence looking snafu
    causing such a hullabaloo
that the 'Orns scored another two
    Thanks El Tucu...

I expect Bobby will be a very happy person right now and in just the right mood for Saturday as River Plate overcame Gremion on away goals. If Doucoure goes perhaps a cheeky bid for 18 year old Exequiel Palacios. A tremendous talent. Box to box midfielder, tackles hard, passes well and looked completely comfortable and not at all out of place last night.

Vamos Millionarios. Perhaps the 1881 can organize something similar.
