18-19 Points Progress

Hello all,

Here is the points progress graph back for the new season! This week I will just show the week by week progress as I've not had time to do the comparable fixtures yet.

The current position is:

• 2 points better than this time last year (6 vs 4. This is the same as after the last game.4 points better than the '40 point' line (6 vs 2). This is 2 points better than after the last game.

Also - here is the number of points we've had after 2 games in the top flight over our entire history...not too bad!!!

 

Blimey - extending that line forward this season is off the scale! Win every game we could be Champions!

Your graph prompted me to google when 3 points for a win was introduced. 1981 apparently. Christ, I'm old!

I hope our comparatively good start doesn’t correlate with how bad we’ll get if we follow the trend of every other season!

I don’t read it after Christmas.

Just this morning, I was pondering a back up if DMS continued to play possum.

Tracing paper & a compass had been assembled.

 

So was GT a 2 point man or a 3 point man?

Would we have beaten Liverpool in 83, or indeed Everton in 84, under the recently retired 2 point regime?

 

Very good but will we beat Palarse?

 

I hate it when I discover that about things I also consider new developments.

Has a score draw written all over it, possum taking an early lead.

 

Just a v small niggle, it would look better (for this season) if it included the line from zero to one games, as it looks like we've only played one. And the improvement would be even more impressive.

 

Shooze West Brom also won their first two games last season! however its a great time to be a Hornet! COYH!

 

"18-19 points progress" ? Well with 6 points on the board already, we just need another 12-13 but shouldn't we be setting our sights higher ?

 

I've always gone for the derisory 'pea'.

 

I know and if you extend the line to a slightly higher trajectory we could average more than 3 points a game .

Even City can’t nanage that .

 

so far we are 6 points in, on our progress towards 18-19 points.

 

You know what the pundits say: Win every home match and scrape a win in all your away games and you'll do enough to win the league, most years.

Yep, and with a head coach nobody particularly rates and with a catastrophic lack of new signings.....

I was going to say that this season you can simply cut & paste from the City forum.

Just realised that doesn’t apply.

 

Bit of simple extrapolation and it looks like our home game against Liverpool on November 24th should mark the start of the collapse.
