2023/24 Season Predictions

Rajovic as flop of the season after finishing top scorer and getting into double figures with one of most uncreative Watford teams I’ve seen is harsh.

 

Porteous as PotS wasn't the worst shout tbf!

 

15th was correct, a few close misses, but Lewis as best newcomer was the biggest error !!

7 right. I'll take that, especially as I got league position and number of head coaches right - both of which could have been anywhere from 1 to 24.

 

I did, but no idea if we did or didn't - I can't remember!

Also marked me saying we wouldn't get promoted as wrong. Multi-tasking isn't my strongest skill

Drastically under-estimated Hull, Ipswich + Bristol City, but mostly over-estimated the quality of teams - with Sunderland, Boro, West Brom, Huddersfield and Stoke all ranking much better in my mind than how they actually performed

 

Think more or less everyone in the country had a bottom 4 of QPR, Wednesday, Rotherham and Huddersfield, I'm interested in why you had Huddersfield so high!

 

Wish I knew, I've taken a look at their transfers and nothing jumps out at me....maybe it was the hiring of Darren Moore who had done well at Sheff Wed previously (but was a disaster at Huddersfield!)

 

He didn't come in until a few games into the season, they had Neil Warnock in charge until about September

 

Oh yeah, in that case I haven't the foggiest then!

 

It really was if you considered his entire season up until the final few games under Cleverley!

Promoted?: No - Correct
Player of the Season: Sierralta - The main disappointment for me out of my predictions. He was looking ace in pre-season and there was hope he could re-gain his promotion season form. But then he got injured early on and afterwards never really got going.
Top Scorer: Bayo (9) - though if we sign another #9 of the profile of Morelos, Kaba, Nsame then them with c. 13 - Not too far off
Best newcomer: Lewis - Err, he wasn't the worst newcomer at least.
Flop of the season: Healey. I'd also mention Porteous considering he's still a recent addition and a lot here seem to have very high expectations which I don't think he'll get close to. - Pretty good, certainly if you considered the season until Clevs came in at the end.
Worst disciplinary record: Sierralta - Nope
FA Cup: Don't care - play the academy players, get knocked out early - Definitely correct with this one, those extra Saints games did our season and the energy levels of our small squad no favours whatsoever
League Cup: Don't care - play the academy players, get knocked out early - Fine
Number of head coaches: 1 - Nope, though they at least did try this time to time to avoid sacking the coach until his position became completely untenable.

Not too displeased overall with that.
