Gomes, Cathcart, Watson, Guedioura, Toszer... all crucial to promotion in 2015, none of whom came from a Pozzo club.
Yes wasn't all literally Udinese reserves although obviously helped. That was more the 2013 Wembley season I think. And the big difference between then and now was having a 20 goal a season striker.
True, when we got promoted in 2015, we had three high scoring strikers. The main reason we did so well in 12/13 and 14/15 was having Almen Abdi in the middle, his injury in 13/14 was pivotal to why we tailed off alarmingly that season.
Bachmann is at least very good at what you'd consider his bread and butter though, if any of our strikers were as good at scoring as Bachmann is at stopping shots, fair enough, but they're not. On balance, I think Bachmann's shot-stopping is definitely overpowering the other flaws in his game, he's made a few mistakes in shot-stopping and Swansea at home was a howler, but I honestly can't remember too many goals this season which have come from him being tentative from crosses or poor at kicking
Not the most reliable metric, there can be any number of reasons for him keeping a clean sheet or not (think the 13 in 23 flattered both Bachmann and the defence that year to an extent), but 40 clean sheets in 94 Champo games is impressive!
Let's be fair to Dan, he has probably made more goal saving saves, than errors that have brought about give away goals. I would prefer a GK who was less error prone, but overall he is a reasonable keeper for the money we can afford, and is not as bad as he is painted by many!!!
