    Dear all,

Leading up to the Euro tournament in June this year, I am conducting some research looking at fans’ views towards the role of football in response to military conflict. For those interested in this topic, I have created a short survey that should not take up too much of your time: https://doit.az1.********s.com/jfe/form/SV_9zZmrJfShOSBDDw

I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on this topic.

Have you ever heard of what happened in WW1? A load of troops from both sides got together on Christmas Day in no man's land to play a game!

Unfortunately the game was unsanctioned so both sides were deducted points by the Premier League. And VAR caused a lot of controversy too. Nothing ever changes eh!

I think this is an excellent idea. Russia vs Ukraine over 2 legs. Extra time and pens in the second leg if the scores are tied. How many lives could have been saved.

    What a nonsensical study.

    Good luck with it though.

I read through both my daughters dissertations many times looking for grammatical / spelling / other nonsense type stuff and also because I enjoyed reading them both. One was on the history of London Underground posters during WW1 and the effect of war on them, (art degree). The other was about the clothing industry and it's effect on global warming, (geography degree). Both were awesome and very enlightening to me, (and I am now very conscious about fast fashion).

I've often wondered when I see threads like this what sort of diss, (down with da kids), comes out the other side. 15,000 words on football and politics? I'd honestly be interested to read the results, maybe we can insist they post them up when the results from all the various forums are put together and studied?

I once toyed with the idea of doing a PhD dissertation along the lines of 'Football Hooligan Crew As Modern Manifestation Of Germanic Comitatus' until the realisation hit me (more than once, literally) of the implications of obtaining sufficient data via direct research.

I remember Drogba somehow stopping a Civil War in Ivory Coast during AFCON, something to maybe look at
