I’m happy that we have not made many changes lately and kept a stable team together, but there’s been a couple of changes that have been needed for a few games now and unless he takes note of this our performances will continue to suffer.
The most obvious change is Sema for Hungbo/Zinkernagel or Pedro out wide. Sema has been blowing for a while now and needs a rest. He is a vital member of our attacking threat but he is a passenger at the moment. I personally think Hungbo deserves a start over Success but another option is to put Zinkernagel or Pedro out wide depending on our midfield injury options.
Another change I think needs to be made is Pedro for Gray. I don’t like Gray in the slightest but I think Pedro again has played a lot of football and could do with a rest.

A lot of football fans have an irrational view that if the last match was bad, that means ALL matches will be bad forever and form will never change.

This is obviously nonsense and Tuesday is a different game in different circumstances. Norwich might wallop us in a kind of victory parade or we may step up and play like we know we can.

I reckon it will be a draw which I would take.

Also worth noting: early in the season Norwich succumbed to a dismal defeat at Luton which was considered their worst performance of the season. They learned from it and turned things round, we may do the same.

I think it’s more nuanced than that. Of course most football fans myself included do often overact to one off results, but there are several dynamics at play here. There are ways to lose games, you can hammer the opposition and miss a load of chances and get caught out at the other end with the one chance they have. That sort of thing you generally write off and move on. Yesterday we didn’t trouble Luton at all whilst they had a number of chances, they completely out thought and out fought as. All things considered yesterday's defeat was very concerning. Couple that with the fact we haven’t played well at all recently, then I think it’s only natural to believe those factors will very likely have a bearing on our ability to beat a team who are good enough to have been promoted, away at their ground.

Cathcart was excellent at right back when we won 2-1 away at Arsenal under Mazzarri. Britos was left back as well!

This game will be completely different, Norwich will come and attack us rather than negate us (not to say we weren't totally outplayed yesterday of course), and on a pitch which will suit us more. Sarr up against a makeshift left-back? Bring it on!

They might want to get 100 points, which they can do if they draw one and win the rest.

This has been being said for about two months now, but he just had an 8 day rest and he was pure ***** yesterday again. The reality is slightly simpler, I think.

Of course they'd want to win every game, just like every club, but that little extra edge you need to achieve it may not be as strong.

Yesterday, on the face of it, Watford had it all to play for and Luton had nothing. But, their manager got them up for it, ours did not. That was the difference. For Luton, it was their season defining match. They had nothing else to play for....their biggest home game since for 15 years. This is what gave them the edge.

Now promotion has been achieved for Norwich, would getting to 100 points really be on the mind of the players? I don't think that would motivate them greatly. Winning the league sure, they'd want to smash us in order to be crowned champions, but after that I'm sure it will be slippers and beach time for them.

A little stat. Tuesday will be the first time we've lost back-to-back games since City and Arsenal at the end of last season.

I'm more confident about Norwich away than I was about L***n away.

They're obviously a very good team but we've had little trouble beating them in our last three encounters and I fully expect a reaction from our players after the dogs breakfast they served up on Saturday.

Norwich 1 - 3 Watford (Sarr, Zinc, Hughes piledriver)

Yes, he got sent off for 2 yellows, so misses 1 game.

a big question i cant find the energy to look into... what are Masinas season w/d/l ratio? I’d imagine pretty impressive, he’s presumably lost v muff, huddersfield and did he play v swansea?

Masina played against Bournemouth (subbed off for Lazaar 15 mins after we went 1-0 down), came on late against Huddersfield, and came off the bench at half time at 1-1 at Swansea). By then at Swansea we'd given up whatever momentum we'd built up by just sitting back though

    I think we'll get something.

Our home form might partly be better than our away because we have a better pitch than most of the other teams in this league. Norwich will have a decent surface.

    Plus we always beat Norwich.

(The above assumes for this fixture Masina is fit and Lazaar sent to Siberia)

So remarkably we havent lost a single game that Masina played the whole of. And only one (muff away) where he played most of it.

I think you're right, except it wasn't the only difference: They presumably knew that Watford like to get the ball down and play on the surface and play out from the back. So they pressed and harried Watford and made sure no player had time on the ball. The pitch, I strongly suspect, was not in the condition it was entirely by accident. It made a big difference, because it was very difficult to play on. It's classic old-fashioned giant-killer stuff: Bring the game down to your level. It nearly backfired on Lootown, it was so bad, because they couldn't shoot straight themselves. I don't think our players were lazy or cowards - they just did not have the wherewithal to cope with the situation.
Norwich will be an entirely different game on a different surface. I don't really think we will get anything out of it, because our squad is starting to suffer from injuries to key players and loss of form in others - and because Norwich are clearly the most consistently good team in the division.
It might be really serious and we get heavily beaten - but it will not be a repeat of Saturday.

By that reasoning I'm betting on us next time we play Man City, we're owed a lot of average there!

If the offshoots of the maelstrom swirling around the footballing world this evening are to be believed in any way, it looks like this match has become rather irrelevant, and we don't actually have to worry about the rest of the season either way, as somewhere between six and nine Championship teams are supposedly going to be promoted to replace the traitorous scummy six once they've ascended to the higher plane of the European Super League and been kicked out of domestic competition in response...

I mean, yes, the biggest factor was tactics, it's becoming too easy to nullify us when we don't just overpower teams with early goals, but they were getting to balls quicker than us, it was a concerning sight. Bachmann (who was probably one of the better players for us to be fair) looked lost when he gave away the penalty, he didn't know whether he was coming or going, and Kiko, what the **** was that?

There's a lot of water to go under the bridge before that happens. Personally, even though it appears to be quite a long way down the line, I don't see this Super League happening, not just yet anyway.

If UEFA and FIFA ban all clubs and players of those clubs from their competitions, then that's a big price to pay. I doubt supporters would stand for it. No domestic football. No World Cup for the traitors. The governing bodies have to agree to this in order for it to happen, and clearly they will not.

Nothing to stop the 12 clubs from forming their own closed shop competition, but without the jeopardy of relegation or qualification, what's the point of it. It's those things that make football exciting. In this Super League, all you can do is win it. Nothing goes to second place. No one gets relegated. It's sounds boring and stale. It might be interesting for the first couple of years, but I think fans would switch off quite quickly from it. There has to be relegation and qualifications to this Super League, or it will become s meaningless competition very quickly.

I have no issue in some sort of Super League, but it has to be through qualification via your domestic league. Once you're in then I see no issue with there being promotions and relegations within the Super League. For me that would work and sounds quite interesting. You could in theory get relegated from the Premier League, but because you did well in the Super League you stay in it.

For example, once Man Utd qualify the Super League, they can only be relegated from it if they finish in the bottom two of their respective mini league. But then they might qualify instantly because they finished 6th in the Premier League. There would only be a place open for and English club if an English club finishes in the bottom two of their mini group and also finished outside of the top six in the Premier League. So you can see it would be quite hard to get into it, but it wouldn't be such a closed shop. It would mean there is a reason for domestic football and a reason why you need to still do well in the Premier League.

This far too sensible and logical for it to be the final answer.
The owners of these clubs are fools.
They want to secure and maximise their future revenues but fail to see that cutting themselves off and eliminating relegation will lose the interest of supporters and so deny them the very revenues they are looking to secure.
    Nothing more than greedy fools.

We rely on fast, zippy football, and through balls to get behind teams.

It’s no surprise that our home form is the best in the English leagues, whilst our worst performances have come against sides where the pitch is either too bobbly or waterlogged.

The inconsistency stops us from doing quick passes, reliable through balls and individual pieces of skill and nullifies our main competitive advantage.

I think we’ll get at least a point against Norwich if Masina plays. But I’ll only panic if we don’t beat Millwall at home.

After this weekends results I'm more confident of us going up than I was before (albeit still not sold that we will). I always thought we'd lose at Luton, and had it down for a game where the other two would make up three points on us. The fact is they are both **** too and none of us really deserve to go up.

We maybe still will, but we'll get murdered here. 3-0 Norwich.

If will lose l think that will be it for promotion.
Millwall will a tough ask to beat them.
The team will go into a defensive mode and we will be desperate not concede against Millwall, Brentford and Swansea.
We cannot defend deep, we are awful when we do this.
Failure to gain at least a point at Norwich and it is over for us.
