That cornet would crack in the PL.

Think it's about time we tried to unearth a quick/talented Korean/Japanese striker at Watford, think that would suit us.

He will either be decent or a very Niang type signing for us. I was going to say successful instead of "decent" but Success has been crap.

Doesn't seemingly want to come here but that doesn't mean he can't play well for us. A winger is needed though so it won't hurt us bringing him into the squad over some of the absolute deadwood we have on the bench

Yeah, I read that but I also read earlier reports that he wanted to remain at Lyon keeping the bench warm. Whether he's changed his mind in a day, or the earlier rumours are false I don't know. Either way, i'd be happy to sign him as long as he works hard and plays well.

You mean a story in the daily comic that is L'Equipe? A chip wrapper with a circulation lower than that of the Daily Star?

    Cornet negotiations continue...

    I want blue sauce mister.
I’ve told you red or chocolate only.
    Wot about rabbit ears?
    I’ve told you, it’s 1982, I don’t hold with it. Now look a ‘99’ or a Mivi, you’re holding the queue up...

Seems as if this transfer is being made because pereya wants to leave? Looked like he’s already left mentally against burnley so hopefully this transfer will go through this jan

The fact that people like this are allowed to both breed and vote (albeit with only the most remote likelihood of the former), tells us all we need to know about the state of Britain today*.

Completely misread that at first glance. Thought it was from Gino’s missus telling us that Pozzo’s ball bag was back in action.

Man at Esso garage indicates deal for Cornet is off and Bolasie has terminated loan at Villa to join us on loan w/view to permanent in summer.

Or maybe it’s just me reading the cards wrong....but it’s a Gino ‘January window’ type move.

One of my earliest childhood memories is of insisting that I wanted an Oyster from the ice cream man (Mylos Softee I believe).

I was so excited when I got it, but then I realised it had nuts and desiccated coconut on it and I cried and cried and cried.

    I've never really stopped.

That isn’t right. Desiccated coconut? Might as well make it toenail clippings.

Cornet is playing for Lyon tonight, so if we are interested in signing him, talks are not advanced enough to pull him out of the squad and there's clearly nothing imminent.

…….unless they agreed something at half time, as he has been substituted!!

Cornet is starting for Lyon in their game at Amiens. Looks like this one is not going to happen.

Looks to me like they're keeping him a) in the shop window in ope of a better offer and b) playing a bit so he won't moan too much and force their hand. Still time left for this one.

Leventhal says its not happening. Player has decided to stay at Lyon, even though they were happy to sell for £25m!! Seems far too much on the evidence I've seen.... He also mentions it could be revisited in the summer.

    #WatfordFC transfer update

Cornet deal looking distant with sources suggesting he has decided to stay at Lyon. I understand club open to sale for fee in region of £25m but down to player to chose & may lead to Summer reappraisal

Re Deulofeu to AC Milan for £25m - not happening

It's beginning to look as if we'll use Britos instead of a new CB and stick with Deeney, Gray, Penaranda and Success as the strikers.

I thought we'd have done well to get in a good striker/forward player in this window, however it's a little disappointing we've not managed to get in a central defender.

Having said that, Britos has impressed in his matches. Wilmott can be used in this position also. He looks like an excellent player who doesn't get flustered, so can be trusted IMO.

Exactly. I still feel a quality CB could be the difference between being 7th or not but I’m happy to back the club if they don’t think there’s good value around in this window. The lack of activity in the PL as a whole so far this January suggests just that.

I think the only real value you can ever get in a January window is if either you manage to get a player who is 6 months away from the end of their contract, or if two clubs agree on a swap deal.
