Gomes, and Chalobah should give him the right advice.

One report 'the £25m rated Brazilian'...£25m? And the rest...

I wouldn't mind £50m and loaned back to us for next season...however one snag...he's Premiership ready.

£25m would buy them a ticket at the table to talk terms with Gino.

Watford is a shop window for young talent. There are items that you can purchase for £25m but Richarlison isn’t one of them! It’s like walking into an expensive jewellery store, there’s no price tags on the goods but if you have to ask the price, then I’m afraid you can’t afford it!

Be another country and culture for him to understand so not a wise move I feel for someone so young.

But we can do you a great deal on the Capoue over in the corner. Only 3 previous owners, low recent mileage and a lovely highlights reel to show the missus what a bargain you've got. £10m. 5p extra if you want a carrier bag.

With the money in football now it's just all ******* depressing isn't it? The big clubs don't even have to scout anymore. They can just let clubs like us pick up the cheap bargains and then pay us millions for them if they're any good, just because they can.

Aside from the help he is giving to our league position and international profile, Richarlison has doubled in value from the price we paid in a few months. By the end of the season his value will have doubled again. And over the following year it will rise significantly again. Given the prices paid for Sigurdsson and Pogba and the value of the next TV deal I can’t imagine any businessmen, still less Gino, would let go of a player appreciating at this rate, any time soon.

    No way.

Better than Hazard, Pedro or Willian?

    Better than Rashford & Martial?

    Better than Sanchez & Ozil?

    Better than Son & Eriksen?

    Better than Salah & Mane?

He's good, very good in fact but he's bang on his level at the moment.

I think he is actually more talented than Rashord and Son and up there with the likes of Martial, also better than Ozil who turns up once in every 20 games.

So he’s better than a player who has been named player of the year 5 times in 6 in the country which is currently the world champion? Why has he not been capped by Brazil then?

He's definitely better than Rashford. The difference between them is that the media don't collectively ejaculate when he heads the ball across the six yard box for a tap in.

    ****s.

  15. In my opinion, and I am not saying you are wrong, i would say Richarlison is better than many of those players in terms of attitude, resiliance and physicality, and same ball park in terms of ability.

But more pertinantly, I believe he will improve with every game, and the better the team around him, the more he'll improve. Many of those players are perceived to be better (than Richarlison) beacause of the players around them.

In the long term, staying with us will not do him any harm, but in the short term, it would be more beneficial to us than it will be to him.

If a bigger club buys him, it will be to go straight into the team, IMHO. That is why it makes sense that it is Spuds and Assnel that are allevedly sniffing around.

  16. This is an up to the minute forum. Not a history lesson.

Bobby Charlton was a better player than Richarlison, but I'd suggest Spuds are more interested in our boy.

Booby Charlton is a fatuous comparison. Ozil was voted German player of the year for the 5th time in January this year. Hardly ancient history, is it?

I have no problem with the claim that Richarlison has potential to be a great player. The claim that he is currently “more talented” than those who have already proved themselves over and over again is much more questionable, imo. And, I repeat - if he’s really that good, why has he not been given a full cap by Brazil, especially last week when he could have just popped down the road to get one? I’m with Squibba. Some serious yellow-tinted glasses on show here, I would suggest.

As mentioned, Ozil all too often fails to turn up. On his day obviously fantastic, yes, but ridiculously inconsistent and frustrating, particularly in the last couple of years as Arsenal fans will tell you. Richarlison is in his first season in the Premier League and has hit the ground running, outshining most of the players on Squibba's list in my opinion so far this season, but of course he's not broken into the Brazil squad yet, it's obviously early days, but it won't be long in my opinion.

    His potential is immense.

If you are not sure if he would start or be on the bench then you are agreeing with me not disagreeing with me.

  20. Who's talking about talent? I'm much more interested in the things I mentioned in my post, like attitude and physicality.

I fancy that more than a few Asslickers would rather have the consistent and reliable attitude of Richarlison right now, over Ozil? (The question mark being an important part of the name and not punctuation in this case).

The idea of Ozil? Is a magnificent thing, but as has been said for a number of years, it doesn't tally well with the work a day reality.

  21. Appologies. Thought it was clear from what I was saying that he would be coming on regularly as a first teamer. I should have made it clearer. Please reconsider my post now you have this information.

Well Nath was, because he used the phrase “more talented”.

I think he has great potential, yes. Would I rather have him than *zil: maybe. I think it is true that he has not always produced his best for Arsenal. I am far from convinced, however, that Richarlison would be a regular starter for the top six clubs. In and around the match day squad - certainly, so as per your post above (I also misunderstood), I guess we are in agreement.

None of this is to suggest I’m not delighted that we have got him (for the time being...)

Martial is a different level to Rich, but Richie will only get better. Then again so will Martial I suppose.

Before he came, we were told he was as good as, or in some opinions, better than, Gabriel Jesus.

I'd say there's a case to be made for that.

If the fine Premiership gentlemen are interested in a purchase, then who knows. Perhaps we can come to some arrangement in the summer. However, bidding must surely and logically begin at the same level at which you would bid to take Jesus from Man City. Anything less would be, frankly, insulting. Every club in Europe and China is interested. Of course. It's just a question of who wants him the most. Who's got the deepest pockets.

Maybe it'll be Everton. They're such enormous food chain giants that they can get whoever they want, right? I also read somewhere, laughably, that ludicrous lillywhite laughing stock Tottenham Hotspur quote: "May offer a couple of loan players in exchange". Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Yes, very good that.

Giovanni! Luigi! Show the gentleman to the door.....

Always hate it when people criticise Ozil, just look at his numbers.

Respect what everyone is saying, could he better be than a lot of them? Possibly.

However at this moment in time, Martial is a different league and Rashford was a Golden Boy nominee, you don't get that simply because you're English! Are we forgetting the shocking misses against Chelsea & Everton. Most the players mentioned above score there.

His attitude definitely sets him apart though, he is an animal, absolutely relentless and on the pitch you can see his desire to be the best! Destined for the top if he carries on like this.

Looking in back into the distant past and the arrival of the Pozzos - wasn't this discussed at length about the only model we could sustainably operate with in the PL as our owners aren't "perfectly legitimate businessmen with access to a magic money tree"?

Exactly. We'll always be a selling club because we have a tiny support base and our owners arent oil barons. I'm fine with it.

Baffled as to how people are trying to work out who's better between Richarlison and Ozil when they play in completely different positions and therefore incomparable. Shall we get Top Trumps out to decide?

Pretty much, but our scouting network + fantastic ownership has shown that we're likely (if not already) going to be the best at it out of the "rest" of the PL.

I think we're doing the right thing, it's just a bit depressing...

  35. Baffled that you think that is what is going on here. It is very obvious that we are discussing a wide range of players across the board, not comparing like for like. Perhaps you should have asked for a summary of the thread before becoming baffled.

This may clarify the matter for you: I wouldn't play Richarlison in Ozil's position, but nor would I play Ozil in Richarlison's; I wouldn't swap Richarlison for Ozil either, because I think Richarlison is the better player in terms of attitude, consistency and physicality, and as a bonus I believe he has greater potential (though we are unlikely to see all of that being achieved at Watford).
