lol Sinclair will never play for us again, he's complete and utter garbage.

Not overly fussed if Okaka leaves, I imagine there's plenty better out there and we need someone to either play alongside Troy, or someone better than Troy if we persist with one up front.

Also, who gives a **** if he leaves before we sign someone else? It's Gino, he won't sell if there's no one lined up.

On last season I have to agree. But there's always a chance under new management with new ideas.

Report here that Everton fancy Okaka as their replacement for Lakaku to Chelsea (he obviously impressed them when he won us the game last Dec) + the Chinese are also interested at 10m:

    https://thisisfutbol.com/2017/06/bl...on-should-rival-csl-clubs-for-watfords-okaka/

Personally I'd like to see SO under Silva, he deserves it & there is something about him that says 10+ goals a season if he's given regular starts. Scored a cracking goal at Chelsea. He's our Lakaku & 10M sounds cheap in today's market. If he does move on, I guess we are at least trading players for profit.

Going off topic I read Notts Forest are interested in Peredes for 2M. It's definitely starting to filter through slowly to the market you can't pick players up on the cheap from Watford anymore..one of the other reasons I love being in the prem.

You miss-read it. Thy want us to pay them £2m to take him off our hands. Seems fair.

A.) Why does he deserve it? He was as average as the rest last season?
    B.) 10+ a season? Dreamland.
    C. 'He's our Lukaku'...REALLY?

If ANYONE is offering us £10m, snap their hands off whoever it is. Anything over £4m and I'd see him gone. Bang average.

The thing is, being 'average' in the Premier league is far from being a bad thing. He'd do well abroad aswell so I think £10 million is a fair price for him

I rate Okaka and think he could be class with better service, also has looked like one of the few that has given a toss at times this season and bothered to put in a shift. Bit too similar to Troy though so could see him being replaced with more of a poacher or a faster striker

I would let Okaka go - he's a bit huff and puff. I just don't think he's good enough personally - not really sure what type of striker he is, he is just average. Good attitude but for £12m we would lad be mad to turn it down

It's all about who would come in and what they'd cost. If a better player is happy to come and the price isn't prohibitive then great but any links to proven strikers seem to have dried up.

£12m would pretty much get you Simeone from Genoa. I like Okaka but replacing him with someone like Simeone would be a serious upgrade.

If you're right then great. But we don't know that he wouldn't cost £20m and end up going to Muff, Stoke, WBA etc. Player price inflation seems crazy this summer (except Hughes!). Just saying we need to see who would replace him before we know if it's a good deal. Last summer we got rid of Vydra who this majority believed wouldn't be good enough for the prem (warrants some debate?) and replaced him with an Italian international striker called Okaka. We need to upgrade not replace with another limited squad player.

Torino and Fiorentina want Simeone and have been asked for €15m.

15 in 37 for the best team in a far inferior league. 4 in 18 for us, 3 of which were a hat-trick although I will grant you, he played well in that game. That game aside though, those are average stats for an average player.

Look at his career so far. He's never really fired anywhere that he's gone. £4m may be low in today's market, I accept that. But that is about his fair value.

It would be a bargain to get a talented prospect like Simeone for 15 million euros in the current crazy market. As mentioned since we lost Vydra, Ighalo and Fessi we don't have a tricky or pacy or else natural in the box clinical knows where the goal is type striker. Deeney and Okaka are fairly similar in attributes and their value is as much to bring others from midfield etc into play. Don't want either to leave but if one did I reckon we could cope, but we definitely have a vacancy. Just look at the riches in that department a team like 'muff currently boast. coyhs!

He's built like a barn door, he is quite skilful, he can score goals and create chances.
He has proved to be a handful against defences, and I would be a bit disappointed if we never gave Silva the chance to see what he could do with him.
I feel he could be a lot more useful than some of you think.

So - we could bring in Simeone and Destro for 12m + Okaka and there are people out there who are even questioning the sense of doing it???

people keep saying to similar to Deeney but whats wrong with that?? If we sold Okaka u can guarentee Deeney would get a long term injury and then everyone would say why did we let Okaka go. We dont need to sell before we buy so just add to what we have

  21. The undeniable truth

I don't think anyone has questioned that particular equation. Well if you know for a fact that's definitely the price and that they are chomping at the bit to join us, then happy days. Just don't want to see us selling and end up bringing in an Oulare or Diamanti on the last day of the window.

My girlfriend knows nothing about football, came to one match vs Sunderland, and within 20 minutes asked "Is Okaka a striker?". "Yes", I replied. She laughed, paused...and said "Oh, you're serious?"

I knew it was love when she said "I don't know if this is normal, but your manager plays very slow football".

I think you're confused on this subject. Okaka scored 2 against Everton, 1 against Southampton and 1 against Chelsea. 4 very good finishes against 4 very decent sides.

4 goals in 954 minutes, in his first season in the PL. A goal every 238.5 mins. Works out as a goal every 2.65 games. Without a decent run in the side, and recovering from an injury or two.

I respect that I made a mistake in that he didn't score a hat-trick against Everton. Everything else I stand by.

You say he didn't get a decent run in the side? Mazzarri aside, have you asked yourself why?

I'm not saying he's terrible. I'm saying he's very ordinary and we should be aiming for better as a club. So for me, if anyone offers anything over £4-5m, I'd happily let him go. If he's happy staying and being 3rd or 4th choice over the summer, so be it.

So what you're saying is, after a half decent season in the Prem, you'd take a £1 million loss on him?

£4-5m is silly, he's worth way more than that, as the £12m offer from China confirms

Well whatever offers are floating around for Okaka it won't be £12 million from China because that would cost the Chinese buyer £24 m now. It was a nice backheel...but not that nice.

I know he is similar to Troy, but I wouldn't get rid on that basis because I wouldn't bet too much on Troy being around next year. If he comes back as much overweight and out of shape as last year I think Silva will get rid.

And if he does get rid, he will be looking for a better player than Okaka to replace him. Nothing against the fella, but he isn't that special.

Simeone would be a class signing he is an incredible young talent and if 15 million euro is the asking price we should be making bid.
