Looking like they're going to clinch it. England look as if they're capitulating... Reminds me of Watford with the occassional spells of looking like the better side

Literally scored a second after I posted.... Fortunately it's offside (unless the vid ref decides otherwise)

Well, I mean, Ray Knight is actually a genuine large agency, so it's not inconceivable!

LOL that Tammy Abraham has been absolute w@nk! Make sure you use him regularly Swansea because it'll mean one less relegation spot for us to worry about hahaha

Are you kidding me? He was awful last game and the game before that too... Championship player at best (at the moment). Maybe in 3/4 years he'll be quality but as of now, I can't see him doing the Swans any favours

Agreed - there's lots of hype but he falls over all the time under any kind of pressure and Prem defenders will be too savvy for him for at least a season

They've certainly got the "lose to Germany on penalties" thing down pat.

You could tell Abraham and Remond were going to miss before they kicked the ball. The arrogance of their run up said it all. Absolutely pathetic. It was ours to win and we blew it.

On a more positive Hughes looked like one of the best players out there today. Great business getting him for £4.5mil.

On a side note, why does everyone keep saying we signed him for £8mil when clearly Sky reported it was £4.5mil rising to £8mil. I'm guessing it's to make Derby feel better perhaps?

The game before this one he played for 18 minutes and won a penalty... he had an exceptional season last season, easily proving that he's far too good for the Championship - scoring that many goals, at that age, for a team who only just avoided relegation, winning the POTS & YPOTS awards to boot.

If anyone knows Ted Knutson, he has some expertise when it comes to Abraham. He values him at up to a potential £50m (third link) and has singled him out as being one of the top talents for his age. He's been banging the drum about him even before he joined Bristol City on loan. You might not rate him, but your comment was extreme, he's a very, very good young forward.

Yes indeed. A quality player but with real promise of end product whenever he was on the ball. I'm sure a few tears were shed in Derby watching that game.

I said the same thing in the first half. He even did the Abdi shuffle at one point..

I hope Gino treated himself to a nice cigar this evening, commenting 'nice work Gino, nice work' as he sat back in his chair.

Remember when Cleverley was supposed to be the next big thing for Man United? As much as I love Cleverley and his likeness to our club; he is far away from being at the level of hype people (including "experts"made him out to be.

The same could be said about players such as Wilshere and Townsend... Both those two were deemed to be the future of England yet both ended up struggling to get game time at the "big" clubs. Meanwhilst both are also very, very average within very average sides. It'd be understandable if they are standout players but Wilshere for example looks no better than any other Bournemouth player last season; yet he gathered interest from Barcelona of all people when he was a youngster with bags of prospect.

What im trying to say is that just because an "expert" labels a player as future worldies often creates hype. It's obvious that you've fallen into that trap as you keep labelling him as "very, very good" yet he's performed pretty poorly for the u21's and he has no evidence of being any good in the Prem. In fact, i'd say he's no better than Vydra or Foriestieri currently

I had to leave after about 75 minutes (suffice to say I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I saw how it ended) - please tell me his injury didn't look like anything that could be long-term? He looked brilliant from what I saw.

He walked off without any need of assistance. He also walked on to join the group huddle before the penalties. Therefore I think we can conclude that it's probably not a long term injury

50 million for Abraham is utterly absurd. 80% chance he makes only fringe Chelsea appearances by the end of 2019 like all their other young prospects.

Equally he's not garbage either, but let's be realistic.

Hello Hornets .. Visiting Ram. Just to wish you good luck with Will.

Nothing to say about the price (we're sobbing in our beer up here ) but thought I'd add some comments having watched him for the last 5 years.

Clever, reads the game, great feet a good touch and a range of accurate passing. Doesn't score enough goals, so many times you want to say have a crack yourself. If he did score more he could be a new Paul Scholes. Not exaggerating. Have a quick look at you tube and the set up he gave Bent for a goal against Wolves last season. When he was younger he used to run out of steam at 70 minutes and got shoved off the ball but the injury gave him a lot of time in the gym and he has beefed up a bit, gained some strength and can tackle. To be honest he has never had a complimentary partner in the Derby midfield. Loves a big game, ran Leicester ragged in the cup at home last season. Messi twirls the full package. Really honest on the pitch, not work shy or sulky. Sad day for Derby but we wish him well and hope he steps up with you guys. He certainly has inate ability and is a real footballer

Seeing that most if not all the media are giving him MOTM for England's u21's today. Just a shame that they are forgetting to link him with Watford now haha. He did play well and I don't see why he can't establish himself like that in the Prem. Chambers also had a good game and I hope we try and get him on loan for the season.

Definitely NOT. I would luv to be a football agent or part of an agency. Money for nothing...kicks for free! Just a humble Moose Man since 1981. Remember the bananas on the pitch for Barnes and Blissett at Chelsea when we outclassed them. Their fans are very tame compared to then. I think if our recruitment continues in the same vein we will have a pretty decent season. COYHs!

I can't remember if it was last summer or the one before but I was on here saying we should sign Will Hughes. The boy is a football genius. Reading some of the posts, it's like some of you had never seen him play until tonight.
No exaggeration, we'll sell this boy for 40 mil + to one of the big boys within two years

    How badly was he injured?

I read somewhere he picked a hamstring injury, lets hope it is not too serious and that he will be ok for preseason training and the start of the season.
