Just thought if admin or a mod could sticky this then it may save alot of threads asking for this number or that website. If you think of any other useful sites or numbers please post them and i'll edit them into the original post. Trains www.nationalrail.co.uk - Probably the best train website, inc. journey planner. www.gner.co.uk - A good place to get tickets when going north. www.virgintrains.co.uk - Another decent train website. www.silverlink-trains.co.uk - Infomation on the local services. www.tfl.gov.uk - Transport for London, inc. trains, tube and buses. Coaches Ticket Office - For official coach travel & tickets - 08701111881 Cantabrica - A cheaper alternative to official travel - 01923 247444 Other http://www.youngpersons-railcard.co.uk/ - See UEA's post for more info. www.footballgroundguide.com - A great site for planning your trip to games.
Would advise one of these for the younger contingent on here: http://www.youngpersons-railcard.co.uk/ You have to be between 16 and 25 and you pay £20 up front for the card, which last a year. You then get 33% off ALL national rail travel (excluding the Tube). Saves me a mint going to away games and pays for itself after one medium distance trip.
Good idea. Stickied. Me or one of the mods will clean it up and keep it on topic, (or try to) Keep the good stuff coming in. I had to ring that awful Virgin train line today to get details of train tickets to Blackburn. Nowhere as good as GNER IMO.
for very cheap and basic accomodation try http://overnightcellprices.govt.org.co.uk http://cheapandcleanbrasses.overnight.come.
Wet Spam Seating Plan I put this up a couple of weeks ago, but in case anyone missed it, or is unsure of what view they may have tomorrow; http://www.whufc.com/uploads/documents/jan_06/whu_1137596382_seat_plan.jpg
This is a clever site for cheaper rail tickets, especially if you've missed early saving offers. It splits the ticket prices! by buying two or more tickets for say the trip from Watford Jnuction to Middlesborough to save ££££££ and it's all legal. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/split-cheap-train-tickets/
