I think I should have been lynched just for playing like a pillock.

I was cheering you on when earlier the same day you mentioned going for diamond.

    Then unfortunately it all shifted!

My first experience of being a villager and I didn't like it!

The second I was picked on the first day, and with nothing to lose, I knew I'd last at most 3 days. And only then if the guardian understood I was encouraging the bluff on the first day.

Yes, thanks Meh! for running the game very efficiently and for the great write ups.

Btw for you good folk out there - two things

    (1) My killing of davr8 on the first night wasn't as a result of being inexperienced; it was for the good of the game, as I explained to Meh! I thought it would be unfair on those players keen to take part, to take one out on the first night when there was someone who wasn't contributing at all.
    (2) kill 2 (miked); again, not quite as straightforward as being inexperienced - deliberately went for an "obvious" kill in the hope that the Alpha would too and we would learn one another's identities.
By the start of today, I thought either Diamond or Chutlhu were my partners in crime but by the end I thought it must be Otter, the way he went for Squibba after I was named evil. Nice work Otter ;)

It's only my 3rd ever game. First time I was eaten on day 1 by two wolves and I was a mason, from that experience I learnt to just shut up. Second time I was eaten on day 2.

Btw not a bad victory for evil, considering there was no traitor in our camp. Well played Chutlhu

I think the fact that there was neither traitor nor witness tipped the balance in evil's favour.

I think I suspected everyone at one point or another apart from Grrwwood and Otter. Not sure if this was a typical game as this was the first time I'd played (don't lynch me again for mentioning it, Harrow ;)) but I really didn't have much of an idea, although it turns out my Experienced Alpha, Less Experienced Beta theory was correct.

A couple of things that stood out knowing what I now know:

I could narrow the Seer message with the clue down to three people, one of whom was Squibba but I thought it didn't sound anything like the way he normally writes on the forum so discounted him! I had thought the Seer was HH24 up until this point but she hadn't viewed the profile page.

Ctulhu said he knew what the clue was but then when Otter and me were discussing it, it became clear he didn't. That and the fact he seemed quite eager to nudge along other people's suspicions made me briefly suspect him but I completely forgot to challenge him on it as Harrow Orn accused me and never considered him Evil again.

I was surprised that no-one else thought more of HH24's rapid about turn on voting for me! I had started to suspect she might be a wrong'un but it wasn't until she changed her mind an hour after declaring me good, just as the momentum was building for voting for me that I became convinced.

Anyway, a fun game, look forward to playing again some time!

Edit: Congratulations to Team Evil by the way, masterfully played.

Well played evil. Annoyingly. Haha. I was a mason but the other 2 were inactive which made it pointless. Tried to allude to this as I knew Jellyman was definitely good.
Was that message about picking me as a gamble from the seer or wolf?

I like the way Happy plays the game - she's the only person who I think sounds the same both when good and evil.

Every year I thought she has been evil, to the point that I didn't really consider it until the last 24 hours or so, when Meh prompted me to re-read the write ups.

Well done Meh, I think you oversaw the game well.

Totally agree, Happy is too bl**dy good at this game.

I really was on a course this week, I asked Meh to make me a humble villager as I knew I'd be quite inactive most of the week. You know what though, I've never been so left alone! It's a great tactic.

Meh, thanks for running it, great game.

Thanks Meh, great game, crazy how bad my judgement was.

Cltuhulu was Jellywood deliberate or accidental?

I flew to Peru on Sunday, so I was worried that due to the time difference that if I was accused by a reindeer message before 11am then I would be toast as I wouldn't have been around to defend myself. In fact Diamond said on page 1 of today:

Ahh, thanks mike/Diamond. I'd never been on "team evil" before and decided that the best way to stay undetected would be to do exactly that - keep playing with the same logic and in the same style as I would normally but just tweak my decisions/comments if need be. Steve LB, you were spot on with my reckless u turn, though. I had decided you were good and had you earmarked for a kill that night so when Harrow suddenly went for you, it threw me. I concluded (wrongly) that he might be the traitor and so followed him, thinking he was sacrificing himself and knew who the evil players were.

I also accidentally commented on here, rather than the graveyard, when I was flicking between pages on my phone.

Luckily only Cthulhu saw it, and actually it was probably more deceptive than not now knowing the wolves.

Thanks all for playing and sorry for a couple of feck ups!

It really was bloody entertaining from my point of view!

I'll do a little epilogue type write up probably Sunday hungover in bed as I'll be in the bar very early tomorrow followed by beers at half time and lots of beers after!

I'd have liked a martyr at least!

Then I'd have a chance of bluffing my way out of being killed by the wolves.

I did ask before we started what character assignment should be and only Harrow came back with something:

2 wolves (1 back up if needed).
1 seer (1 back up if needed)
    1 traitor
    1 guardian
    1 tinker
    2/3 masons
    6/7 villagers

    Forgot the traitor though!

I think this is a good simple one for a newby mod. I can be more adventurous next time.

My comment was more a... if only there was... due to my specific circumstances.

I do like the role of martyr though, as it gives people more of an incentive to be vocal.

    http://werewolf-the-game.wikia.com/wiki/The_Martyr

The Martyr is a Villager who may sacrifice themselves in the place of a player being lynched. The Martyr must announce that they are taking the place of the person lynched before the role card is revealed.

The Martyr changes the balance only slightly in favor of the Villagers. The Martyr is only truly effective if they are to give up their life in exchange for the Seer or other powerful Villager role. They don't have any concrete way to gather this information, so they are unlikely to be able to do that.

Have a look at this forums rules and roles for werewolf XVI. Gives a good write up of martyr and others.
