So which Wfc players have played in the World Cup finals while on our books?

Gerry Armstrong was the first i believe.. Spain 82.
    John Barnes- Mexico 86
John Mclelland- non playing substitute also Mexico 86
Was Jay DeMerit still a Watford player at SA 2010?
Belkalem & Park (while on loan).. Brazil 2014.
Amrabat (out on loan so not sure it counts) Russia 2018
Carillo (while on loan) Russia 2018

Who have i missed or included when i shouldnt have?

Skilly Williams was mooted by the 1930 Uruguay selectors, given his mother’s Welsh/Patagonian/Montevideo ancestry.

The difficulty of travel, which prevented almost all the European teams from entering, sadly deprived Williams of the honour of competing.

Strictly speaking, he was by this stage a Brighton player but he have been, at heart, the first WC Horn.

I trust Ash reflects on this tomorrow.

Looks like nobody who was at the World Cup will be at the club this coming season (or at least won't play a starring role). Should be a positive early in the season as most squads have had players in Russia. Much more excited to see Ighalo at the World Cup than anyone at the club now anyway

Likewise, the only advantage of a **** medical staff is that players out all season don't get the chance to be even more crocked at the start of the next season

Will Hughes should have been at the World Cup.

He was the missing link England needed, a playmaker with the final pass.

    Maybe next time!

The Croatia goalie had a hamstring injury against Russia but played on and of course played last night..

Maybe we can ask the Croatian medical staff what they did!

I guess the lure of being a hero in your country in the World cup helped.
