And then it goes too far the other way as Jeff Stelling booms "in terms of upsets there may be one brewing at St Andrews as Coventry have just equalised at Championship heavyweights Birmingham!"

It's nice to see that Ian Wright has the balls to indicate what modern football is really about when he praised Watford for spending £13M on a player (Pereyra). He didn't mention that he was a quality player, nor his skills - just repeated (three times?) the we had spent £13M.

To be fair, he did talk about his ability

Wright clearly said Pereyra was a quality player though?

Is that because of the goal he scored though (and played well against Arsenal too)

Probably not seen him too many times.

Apologies to Wright. The first thing he said was celebrating the fact that WFC would spend £13M on a player. He did pass two compliments on his quality and ability and he then closed by adding that it was good to see us spending £13M.

To be fair, we've always had a lot more positivity from Chappers & co. than from MOTD1

To be fair the format is that when they show the segment of Saturday's goals they split it into two parts and briefly discuss one team from each group of matches, they can't discuss us each week.

Narrated by Gary Lineker and filmed over November. That should be very balanced :naughty:

Lets hope we are not an innocent party caught up in any film finance tax scheme-like many other current/past football figures including Gary L. He is still shown as one of the 232 partners in Inside Track LLP along with one Gareth Southgate.

Recent case involving Inside Track also shown

Not fresh news as this has been heard before but interesting he is still involved in filming

Fair assessment of our performance vs Spuds by Lawro and MOTD2 team.

I paraphrase "Watford were cr#p and showed no fight or game plan and defending was pathetic and injuries don't excuse not doing the basics of a professional football team"

AND showed miserable Watford fans hiding from the weather/game under plastic on '2 Bad'.

Good start to 2017 - can only go one way from here (^ please)

I watched it yesterday over a very boozy lunch but did they not make a single comment on our match?

I'm not one to complain about MOTD, but their lack of coverage of our game, and of GT would absolutely dreadful and insulting to the great man.

Yes - and then even Ian Wright just sort of did a half hearted "tribute" afterwards.

Mind you the match wasn't a lot to write home about!

No width/poor crossing/missed chances/slow passing....all the things that GT would have hated.

To their credit the BBC have done heaps of memorial stuff for GT.

MOTD is a highlights programme and we drew 0-0. What did you expect? Top billing?

Granted the game was pretty rubbish, but perhaps a bit more discussion about GT's achievements? A compilation of clips of GT throughout the years?

I think they did that on Football Focus. MOTD is a highlights show.

Agreed; think their overall coverage: 5live; Focus and mainstream/ local news has been little short of magnificent.

Anyone else think Deeney was ultra subdued in his interview? Almost mumbling.

The tribute on football focus was pretty good. Motty's reminisces were actually quite moving whereas the best that "Lawro" could come up with was describing him as "...normal...". I would love to have heard the thoughts of Shearer who is unbelievably complimentary about GT (gave him his first England cap).

Will they be showing the "...do I not like that..." documentary as [shame] I've never seen it [/shame]? I wonder if, in the current climate of knowing exactly "how good" our international squad is it would receive a more favourable reception?
