MODS Can we make the ignore function subject specific, so that if HB1 posts about referees we can all choose not to see it?

Last time I went, Steve Sherwood scored and we won 2-1 (I think).

A comfortable, comprehensive win - which is very welcome when you consider the feeling around the team over the last few weeks.

A good collective confidence boost for all the players, regardless of the opposition. Just a shame that Pereyra's cracking shot hit the bar and bounced out instead of in.

And I'm certain that a goal for Troy from open play will do wonders for his own confidence - any striker will tell you how much of a relief it is to score when you've been on a barren run (not including pens, of course).

Only disappointing bit I can recall is when Janmaat was beaten easily again and their forward was left with a free header which he should have scored. Will we get away with similar next week??

Again - the plus points from this game are likely to be revised in a week's time after the Southampton match. Should we win - this match will have been the perfect game to have re-installed confidence; should we lose - then this match will have only papered over the cracks, meaning nothing had really changed. But what the hell - we don't win very often these days, so lets just enjoy it for the time being.

Regarding the popular soundbite about this having been against City's 4th string/youth reserves etc etc; if you compare yesterday's team to the one we played against in August - there were 7 players who featured in both games; 5 starters and 2 on as sub (the whole defence was identical except for a change in goalkeeper).

And to add further perspective - their victory over Man Utd featured six players that played yesterday - four starters plus two on as sub. Not their strongest team of course, but nowhere near the no-hopers as has been claimed. If you want to split hairs further - although we fielded probably the strongest side available - we know that when fit, Chalobah, Hughes, Femenia and Kaboul all go straight back into the team. It wasn't their best side - but neither was it ours.

All data from here:https://www.11v11.com/teams/bristol-city/tab/matches/ so blame them if it's wrong:D.

Only been to Coventry twice...first time was in the FA Cup in 86 when Colin West and Kenny Jackett both scored long range goals - remember the game was in danger of being abandoned because of a snow storm.

Then in 2007 when we beat them 3-0 at the Ricoh.

Coming from someone that’s posted 73,000 posts since 2006, I think there is room for a few other opinions. It’s not all about you, you know.

We nicked the design for the Rous stand from Highfield Road didn't we?

I sense a fierce rivalry being reborn once this gets out there.

Drove to Coventry for an away match one boxing day back in the 80s. It snowed heavily and I was an inexperienced driver at the time. That was the best way to get snow driving experience .

Are you thinking of the 3rd round cup game in 1986? It snowed a lot during the match.

    Ive never heard this.
While one stand at Highfield Road had a similar vaulted roof design everything else was different about it. It was single tiered, had boxes front and back and the roof was a propped goalpost construction.

You should check the actual attendance figure. Your belated forecast was way out. The ground hasn't been extended yet
