I watched this, partly because I visited Boston last year. Could not understand the interest in Baseball and was told that American football was more exciting. And partly because Kroenke owns the Rams and I don't understand why he wants to own A senate when he is clearly keener to invest in this sport than football. Have to say I was underwhelmed.
Was truly one of the most boring Superbowls in a good few years. Which is a shame, because lots of the playoff games were excellent and full of drama.
It reminded me of the first FA Cup Final at the new Wembley. On paper it looked to be a fantastic game but in reality it was sh*te.
Not a good game to judge the NFL on. That game was just of those things that happens every now and then. For me the Pats are the equivalent of a successful Mourinho team crossed with a bit of Burnley, and very much like the Man Utd team that won everything - most people hate them for it. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but with the Rams previously wonderful attack, unfortunately it was probably always going to be this way. They found a way to completely nullify the rams offence (they had to punt 7 times in a row, which is unprecedented) and at the same time eventually found a weakness that they then exploited by playing pretty much the same route over and over until they got their TD. It was dull from a scoring point of view, but as an NFL fan I still found it quite entertaining. Two teams at the top of their game effectively playing chess against each other. If the Chiefs had got through instead it would’ve been a completely different final. It’s very rare to get a game or a final like that.
I couldn't agree more. If you just want to watch one team score then the opposition score (repeat to fade), go and watch bloody basketball. Now THERE'S a **** sport!
