Too late i'm afraid. There's been a 4 year battle over the allotments between the council, who want the land for the Health campus expansion, and the allotment tenants.
It was recently decided in the High Court that the allotments will go. Wfc will get a larger car park out of the arrangement.

It might have been an idea for us to have built a new stadium on that land (which is larger than our current space) and give the Health campus what is now ours.

That would make the most common sense Stevo you re right , but then this is local authorities we re talking about here .

We could have paid a lot more did the land than the hospital which could have gone towards better facilities for the hospital

Although if this battle had been going on for 4 years - we did not have prem money then. 4 years ago was the transition from Baz to Pozzo.
I can't imagine the council considering the club as a viable option when we had no money and were run by Stanmore's answer to Del Boy.

To be honest, I think most of those houses had been abandoned for some time.

Liverpool council were helpful. They actually bought up some of the houses for them. Can you imagine WBC doing that for us?!!! Watford council has never shown any interest in advancing WFCs cause. They have always thought the club was irrelevant. They were the reason WFC could not progress off the pitch in the past. I guess we just have to make the most of our landlocked little ground which when extended will be even more cramped but personally I think it will look great. When you look at the new stadiums being built The Vic will always be a poor relation.

With our Premier league status and wage structure we'll be needing the larger car park for players Bentley's, Aston Martin's and gold plated Range Rovers :)

Nice image (but didn't I copyright this idea when I first came up with it?)

Building a full enclosed stadium on a flood plane shouldn't be that much of an issue because it a) is not residential b) is not made of paper and c) would practically be a boat in it's design anyway.

It's alright, if you refer to last winter's posts from GF, he has a drainage system that will hold back the tides etc., he's a modern day Cnut.

Put the football pitch on a boat, what a great idea

The game could depart the docks at 2:45, cruise up and down the Thames whilst the game is played, then dock at 4:30

Great idea. I guess the docking at 4.30 allows the traffic dodgers to disembark and get away before the final whistle. Genius.

Could be handy if we get Fulham in the cup , we could pull up right outside craven cottage so they can hear all the goals we score

    Very similar with the one!

Imagine that with Doyley in the team. Games would last longer than American Football with the time needed to collect balls!

Wasn't Beckham going to build an island stadium for his Miami franchise he was planning?

We cant emulate that. There is barely enough water in the River Colne to fill a bath, even the rats can wade across with out needing to swim

I see on the fishal site that some season ticket holders are going to have to be moved because of ground access improvements.
Anybody got any idea of details of these improvements, and what area of the ground would be affected?

I suspect it is to provide additional wheelchair space, so probably an extension of the existing wheelchair areas in the Rookery and LGT?

It's all about improving disabled access. My guess is they're going to be taking out some seats in one of the front rows (of either the Rookery or SEJ) to include more disabled spaces. They've already done this at the front-east end of the Rookery.

Was it end of next season that Duxbury said the SEJ is going to be extended?

DAb22ceXkAAICAx.jpg Not really expansion, but for those that haven't seen it - this was posted on Twitter - more wheelchair spaces being installed at the front of the Rookery.
