Linked to the West Brom striker. That should solve our goal scoring problems

    http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/04/30/report-watford-leading-race-for-west-bromwich-albions-salomon-ro/?utm_medium=share service&utm_campaign=social media&utm_source=twitter&utm_content=HITCdeadlineday

I actually like his attitude and personality, but for £16.5m, he seems a bit over priced.

10 goals scored from open play, for a struggling team, is not too bad a return. I remember that dreadful miss of his at the Vic though, when he had an open goal, but steered his header wide.

    Probably an upgrade on Okaka.

A mobile striker who can hold the ball up, certainly an upgrade on what we have.

An upgrade but that isn't saying much when you look at our strikers. I'd still take him though.

Maybe an upgrade, but he's very similar to what we already have with Deeney and Okaka.

I'd prefer we put that kind of money towards a type of player we don't already have. Like someone with a goal scoring pedigree. Someone with a bit of pace and can finish. These players are out there.

He's scored 7 Premier league goals in 33 games. A strike rate of 4.7. It's comparable to what we already have, but if he is an upgrade, I'm not sure it's enough of one for £16.5m.

Florin Andone has a €6million release clause. I believe both Okaka and Gray will be off come summer so another big man up top may be needed. Possibly even Deeney too.

Not sure we'd sell all three players. I'm pretty sure Deeney will stay. Both Rondon and Deeney are first team players in their own minds, so I suspect neither would accept a back up role from the bench.

Would no doubt help with the settling in of Peñaranda too. Would be happy with this. Has shown that he's capable of scoring and playing the lone forward role.

He's a mobile, hard-working, non-scoring target man so he could replace either of our not-particularly-mobile, non-scoring target men, or even our pacier, non-scoring striker.

He'd probably be an upgrade on all three strikers we have. Not much of one, but an upgrade nonetheless.

I can see the logic of all the arguments above, but by Christ it's depressing to imagine Watford relying on him. He's been OK this season, but I'm sure our coaches could wipe out any goal-scoring instinct before the end of August, and then we've just got the ageing donkey of the previous couple of seasons.

Proven strikers are so expensive. Who do we honestly expect Gino to buy ? £16m doesn't look a bad price for an established "ok" prem striker. Frankly anyone who can score 5 or more playing upfront for WBA over the last 2 seasons must have something about him !

He's scored 5 more goals than Deeney this season for a dreadful side who have much less creativity in their midfield than we do. He can do a decent job as a lone striker away from home and would be an upgrade, albeit only a marginal one.

I'd wager that even getting rid of all three of our current strikers and replacing them with Rondon and Sol would be an improvement compared to our current situation.

If we signed him, I think he would be fairly decent if not spectacular.

He would certainly be better than the strikers we have, but that isn't saying a lot. More like a hardworking, mobile, thinner Deeney.

For a moment there I was genuinely worried, but then I saw it was from HITC and that therefore you'd have to be a complete ******* moron to believe it.

I like him and I'm pretty sure I suggested him on another thread as a potential target, hard working and has talent - age is a little worry but he is an upgrade on okaka and current form Deeney.

Hope we go for Burke too.

I like him, a quicker, more mobile and agile Deeney for me. Doesn't he tend to score a few crackers too?

Rondon has scored exactly the same number of outfield goals in the PL this season as Gray did for Burnley last campaign..7.

He’s also played for the last two clubs Gracia has managed, but not at the same time!

I wasn't keen a few months ago but west brom fans love him and his attitude.

A Chinese team offered £30 million last year but apparently he has a release clause.

Still young so would probably have resale value so on balance I'd consider him

    Never worth £16.5m.

Andone is definitely worth a shout as Dom said.

    Mick Ronson?

Btw, Pop Pickers, from which English town did the 3 members of The Spiders from Mars hale?

I know the answer should be Mars but it isn't.

Please don't shout out the answer.
