Shall certainly be raising a glass for Sir GT tonight. Can't believe it's been six years. In Watford terms, the GOAT

I expect some sort of celebration of his life at the game on Saturday. Clap on 72 minutes or something similar. Btw, I would so proud to be the owner of the home to the side of this masterpeice.

I was saying this to a pal yesterday.
    Hard to fathom.
    Always in our hearts.
    Never to be bettered.

Into my heart an air that kills
    From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills?
    What farms,what spires are those?
It is the land of lost content
    I see it shining plain.
The happy highways where I went
    And cannot come again.

As I believe I've mentioned before, GT and several senior players coming to the Rifle in Bushey to spend an evening with the locals was such a special moment in time.

Lordy, we were blessed, weren't we???

I’ll be raising a glass to the great man tomorrow at the ground and hope that whilst he’s relaxing up there in the great training ground in the sky that he doesn’t have to read all the posters on this forum who wish Watford lose every week .

How sad to use a thread paying tribute to our greatest ever manager to make a dig at posts you don’t agree with.

Usually find these GT games end 0-0!

Exactly what the great mam wouldn't like.

I disagree with fans hoping that Watford lose.

And you think GT would feel differently.

    You’re entitled to your opinion.

We had a great Wednesday evening in the Red Lion when Luther and Ian Bolton came in to push over a ‘charity pile of pennies’. No pomp or ceremony, just 2 decent blokes drinking a half of shandy (90% lemonade) and talking to anyone with complete openness. Best bit was when Bolton almost forced Luther to roll up his trouser leg to show the state of his shins…battered and bruised even through the shin-pads. ‘Bravest, toughest bloke I’ve ever known’ was Bolton’s throw-away comment.
Real team spirit amongst that lot. I wonder who engendered that?

True. I went to the Boro' one a few seasons ago. Not a terrible game and we were the better side but couldn't score if we had been there till midnight. Still, the overall commitment of the club, players and especially the fans' really shine above the football on these days. A bit like our 100 year game (ironically against Boro') this season, we were poor first half then won the game second half. Shaking GT's hand on the corner of Tucker Street has never left me. Legend.

Sorry Ross, you’ve lost me here - I haven’t said that, although feel free to prove me wrong.

You’ve deflected away from my point that you have used a post designed to pay tribute to him to carry on whinging about posts that you don’t agree with.

You’re also entitled to your opinion so maybe we should leave it there.
