And you’ve misinterpreted it. Don’t get so defensive about it.

I honestly thought that Gray passed it back to the keeper because of an infringement

Yes he is.. That's why Pozzo paid £18m for him.

He's just lacking confidence at the moment. Get behind him!

I'm really disappointed it was on 3, I hope Gray puts this behind him at least he got a goal. I'm hoping he makes up for it against Manure and gets his first home hat trick

Could this be why Silva was so angry about the transfer window business?

Wague and Zeegelaar were only signed last minute because Gino had wasted time courting all of the Bennett sisters, Dr. Jekyl and Mr Hyde as well as Mr. Bumble.

Silva himself was tempted by Everton after discovering a memo which suggests he was Gino's 2nd choice after Long John.

Just read through the thread and see after the final whistle the usual brain-dead stream watchers declare we didnt play well......I utterly despair. That was a scintillating away day.

Gray is dogshit. That being said, I didnt see him cupping his ears at the time, but have seen it on telly and surely it wasnt directed at us? He wasnt getting any grief off us that I could hear, and he definitely wouldnt have way down there on the pitch. I dont blame richarlison for not wanting to pass to the hapless galoot though.

He may be one of the most hateful, useless, overpriced, shortarsed, sulky-faced, *****tatted, zlist minger shagging, ex scum, homophobic twerps ever to play for our club, but I dont think he'd insult a group of away fans who do the decent thing and only abuse him on internet forums rather than on match day......but it did look like he was looking up while doing the celebration rather than the home fans directly in front of him so who knows.........I'll be tentatively booing him mercilessly tomorrow just in case, but I do think he's innocent on this occasion.

I have also been proved very wrong about will hughes. I thought he was a lightweight liability who'd never make it with us, but he is well and truly in the ACE column for me. MOTM.

Does anyone know if holebas was injured or dropped from the squad for other reasons? Be a shame if he's binned off now, even though zeegelaar does appear to be brill.

I read a report at the weekend that seemed to indicate it was for tactical reasons as Janmaat offered more versatility off the bench.

Presumably Jaanmat was left out of the squad against West Ham in favour of Holebas was that it was tactically necessary to have less versatility off the bench.

    Well, that was *****.

You were much the better side, and deserved all 3pts. But by christ we were awful.

Benitez has played 442 the past 3 games and we've shipped 8 goals and scored once. I know his hands are tied by the squad we have available, but playing 442 against a side on the up, full of confidence and attacking verve was unlikely to be successful. Joselu is bereft of confidence and even when he's full of himself he's still a bit crap. Shelvey is a good player, but a lousy captain. Lejeune is still getting used to the league and that inexperience showed. We're two or three players away from being a decent Premier League side, and because of Ashley's niggardly approach to transfers we're still very much a good Championship side.

Lascelles absence, along with Merino's, meant we were all over the shop defensively and but for some profligacy on your part it could have been much, much worse. Thought Hughes was better than the one we faced in the Championship, and Silva has you very well drilled. How far do you think this team can go?

Anyway, hope those who travelled up enjoyed the trip and I wish you good luck for the season.

Thanks Fish. Have to say though that I'm a little doubtful about you being two or three away from being a decent Prem side.

I'd say you need some serious spending in January to make sure of survival. I don't think we've seen more hapless opposition so far this season to be honest. I realise you had a few absentees, but your midfield (or lack of it)! Dios mio!

Lol could be. Maybe with MZ making his debut, he wanted a recognised left-back on the bench as cover.

For the Newcastle match, Kiki was coming back after an injury that forced him off the week before, so maybe he wanted a recognised right-back as cover, who could also play at left-back in an emergency.

I'm never one to boo any player or not support one when at a game, but on here we can express views freely. Judging by what I've seen so far and what Burnley fans told us, he's a good athlete (fast and strong) but technically as a footballer he's utter garbage.

The forum now seems to be attracting gracious, well-informed and articulate supporters of other clubs, rather than to55ers like SSBilly and MKDonny who used to pollute this site. Hopefully they find us Watford fans reasonable people with whom they can have a sensible discussion. If that's the case, don't tell them about our Brexit threads!

We're 14th at the minute because we've lost 4 on the bounce due to an abysmal combination of injuries to key players. Had Hayden, Merino, Lascelles and Atsu been available for them all I don't think we'd have gone 4 games without a point. Given how tight the league is around us, a point here or there is the difference between 11th and 15th.

    GK - Darlow/Elliott
    RB - Yedlin/***
    CB - Lascelles/Clark Mbemba/Lejeune
    LB - Dummett/****
    CM - Hayden/Merino Shelvey
    RW - Ritchie/Murphy
    LW - Atsu/Aarons
    #10 - ***/Perez
    CF - ***/Mitrovic

Should be enough to lock in 15th or so, which for a newly promoted side that hasn't spent a lot, is pretty good.

When fit a midfield of Hayden, Merino and Shelvey is pretty good to be honest. Merino especially.

My English teacher said they don’t have to rhyme :(
    I’ll try harder.

    Gray misses air shots
    He can be that bad
But we love the loveable rascal
    When he ear-cups the fans.

    He’s a premier league striker
    He’s scored one or two
But I missed the last one
    (In the loo).

    It’s all coming right
    He’s trying to score
    With the support of Cthulhu
    He’ll grab a few more.

    When Moog gets behind him
    He’ll think he’s arrived
    With support like that
    He may even score five.

    As long as he runs
    And creates all the gaps
    He’ll help our young Hughsey
    Win a few caps.

    So André we love you
    You help others to score
    So ignore all the saddo’s
Who think you’re a festering sore.

    One day you’ll be legend
    The goal touch will come
    Hornets Hall of Fame beckons
    Your place in the sun.

    So keep your head down
    And swing that left peg
    Try to remember the goal
Is that thing with a net.

(I’m not planning on giving up my day job in case u were wondering).

I went and had a great weekend.

Cba to read the whole thread, but I just want to give Kabasele a shout out. Two of our goals came from top class passes from him, and he was solid all game. He's become a master of the block.

Just a thought, maybe we could try and nick Lascelles off "The Toon" in January?

Me thinks he would make a good addition to our backline.

Over breakfast this morning I watched our match highlights on MoTD on iPlayer, I couldn't help thinking that if Doucoure's chance had gone in a minute after we took the lead we would be looking at a potential goal of the season just from his movement alone, the apparent telepathy between Zeegelaar and Doucoure and simply concentrating on Doucoure's run is just a beautiful thing to watch.

No chance he'd leave in January, if we drop at the end of the season he should leave for the sake of his career though.

what did you think of Janmaat when he was with you? He's been good for us, but very injury prone. But we've now got a better right back, I feel a bit sorry for him.
