    I didn't really take much interest in Gaddafi and middle East etc at that time and shamefully accepted the narrative here that he was a crazy, cruel nutcase bent on doing harm to us.

    Now I've read (a little) more, it doesn't seem like he was all bad. A bit nutty, yes, but seems to have done some good things for his people. Now I still don't know a lot about it, but whereabouts on the 'evil' scale was Gaddafi exactly?
