And I have a lot of respect for him. Just left slightly cold by the ‘whole city grieves’ thing when you put things into perspective.

I wasn't really being entirely sincere when comparing him to Princess Diana.

Come off it! People love nothing more than the chance to 'grieve' over the loss of someone they didn't know and never met. Don't spoil their fun

    Anyways, the football.

The only words that jump out when Claude rambles through his post match interview after yet another dour draw are ‘quality’ and ‘interesting’. We have no quality and we are not interesting to watch. Every player seems to be playing with the handbrake on, we never build any momentum in games and when we do score it feels very much in spite of what the game plan is week in week out which seems to be dribbling the ball 20 yards in the full back position and then turning round and starting again. It’s all painfully dour.

We keep going a goal behind at home too, leading to frantic rallying in the last 20 minutes where Puel’s plan goes totally out of the window and we somehow spawn a goal. I can’t be arsed to look up how often this has happened over the last year, just take my word for it.

We are the antithesis of the beautifully tough and explosive team we were under Ranieri, it feels like all of his and Pearson’s hard work is being dismantled for no good reason.

    1-1. Everybody bored to tears.

My personal tribute is going to be drinking 6 pints of strong local ale before the match.

Yes - Mark Hughes was critical of the VAR this time.

Well he won't have to worry about the system next season potentially - he and others need to learn that whilst it might be an asset to the game it might not always go there way.

And tbh most handballs are going to be subjective even with VAR.

But last time Chalo played he was way off the pace, a passenger. I'm not sure he's totally "mended".

It's the League Cup so it went to penalties without extra time. I'm not sure 15 extra minutes spent huddling around and taking the odd penalty will have tired them out too much. Plus they made 9 changes from the weekend.

Just think - we could have games next season with Moss in the middle, Taylor as 4th official and Oliver as VAR.

I hear what you're saying but all I know is that someone who lost her child found some comfort at an impossibly traumatic time from those tributes left at the ground so that's all that matters to me.
Re the 1881 plans - as far as I am aware (& do correct me if I'm wrong), the 1881 raised enough money for two banners, with surplus donations going to charity. Seems a nice gesture to me.

It would have been better if all the money raised had been given to charity and a simple, private letter sent to Leicester letting them know and offering condolences.

I think it’s lovely that money is going to charity and I can’t even begin to comprehend the heartbreak of losing a loved one in such an accident, let alone one speculated about and picked over by the media.

What I’m getting at (as I’m sure you know, I just don’t want to appear reptilian) is the crying fox, ‘u ok hun’ people who see their opportunity to get some sympathy and write gushing FB stauses about how heartbroken they are. Or that thing some fans do if saying ‘I support X... but at times like these we’re all one big football family’. I find it quite disingenuous.

He was searching for another device on which to post after smashing the original in a fit of rage with Certs' persistent WUM status.

Remarkably unremarkable. To be fair he’s usually having to keep an eye on whatever Maguire or Morgan have wondered off to do.

Excellent advice, the Everards original is a lovely pint.
Tiger is ok but not as good as the original.
You can sometimes get it at the Barley Mow at Cosgrove.

Agreed. Sunchaser in the summer is a lovely pint. Don’t see it very often though. Charnwood brewery beers are also excellent should you spot them and they have a Fox on the logo which appeals to the 7 year old in me.
