Ah, so that explains him rolling around on the floor while Hudderfield scored their fourth goal. He was 'catching' his eye. Got it.

If we want to get rid of him, it's important that the purchasing club doesn't speak to him first.

Just tell them yeah, he's a lovely bloke. Really mild-mannered, pleasant and easy to get on with.

Hopefully they'll fall for it and we'll be shot of him without him even getting wind of the fact until he's sold, in the same way his last club managed to dupe us.

Liked because it is genuinely funny.

Not much of an argument against though!

Through translating lots of Turkish Tweets I've gathered that Holebas or one of his representatives have said that there is no problem with the transfer and that they are waiting. Waiting for us to sign a replacement before he can leave or maybe Galatasaray are trying for Asamoah one last time?

Why are we not going for Asamoah???

Because another midfielder converted to a LB isn’t what we need?

With Holebas, it’s usually the selling club that doesn’t speak to him before the sale.

In fact, usually no one does.

A chloroformed handkerchief, a length of duct tape & Mercedes S Class boot are the tools of the trade required.

And took the final chance he had to aggressively confront our own fans. Sell him by end of transfer window, or just sack him.

Flew to Reykjavík today with sleazyjet. Casually whiling my time away having a Heineken midflight and flicking through the complimentary magazine - Jose only has a whole page spread for his dodgy clothing line in it! I came here to get away from being reminded of how bad we are!

I’ve got a picture on my phone...I’d post it if I knew how....

Now there's a coincidence. We also want him to leave Watford following his confrontation with his own fans.

In fact we probably want him to leave more.

Well placed ad though. Those low slung bottoms appear roomy enough to insert a hot water bottle, a practical and yet fashionable item which could have been designed with the Icelandic market in mind.

Turkey would be perfect for him. They all get on so much better with Greeks than Watford fans do.

Speak for yourself Clive, I happen to think he has been one of our better players over the last few seasons, and is wrongly maligned by many on here like yourself.

OK he might not be the most likeable player we have, but IMO there is no doubting the passion and effort he puts in for WFC, he does not deserve the way certain Hornets fans critisise him week in week out , let alone the way he was abused last Saturday. I do not blame him for wanting to leave, and I for one will be sorry if he does, and I also think he will be sorely missed by the team.

Sorry, but don't agree. I think the maligning is richly deserved and I think you're confusing passion and effort with a lack of self-control and a generally bad character. He didn't want to come here in the first place, so why on earth would he suddenly be passionate about our club?

I'm also surprised you think he's been one of our better players. He's not too bad on the ball admittedly and can run it into dangerous positions, but his crossing often isn't all that (to say the least) and his defensive ability is minimal. The lying down on his back holding his face whilst the opposition scored v Huddersfield is probably the single most 'couldn't care less' moment I've ever seen from a player in a yellow shirt. Absolutely embarrassing.

I suspect he's a surly and argumentative disruptive influence in the dressing room too (backed up by some comments made by Deeney a while ago). I think there are much, much better players around than him and will be glad to see the back of him.

Well I don't think anyone who knows me would consider me surly and bad-tempered like Holebas.

Perhaps some employers and Tories might consider me 'disruptive' but that's purely for (what I consider) the right reasons and almost always to defend others, rather than for my own personal benefit. Almost always it concerns breaches of employment law or attempts by the powerful to give the bum's rush to the poor and powerless.

That's very different from a football player on tens of thousands each week, who causes a rumpus because he doesn't think the pasta is good enough for his fine tastes.

But anyway, this post is in the football section rather than the politics section and as such, we should devote it to discussing football rather than my politics I reckon.

He’d be missed because we have Zeegelaar. Holebas is like Paolo Maldini in comparison.

Exactly Clive. That's sums up how I see Holebas too. His positional sense when defending is consistently poor and many crosses come into our box due to him leaving his man. I wouldn't shed a tear if he left for Turkey by the end of tomorrow.

despite everything, I still like him. I think our current squad is a hateful bunch, so that helps to make him less hateful, if that makes sense. When everyone is a ****, an individuals ****ishness is easier to forgive.

I can even understand his antics v huddersfield. He feigned injury so the ref would stop play and the goal wouldnt be allowed. The plan failed and you can argue it was a terrible plan, but he did it because he didnt want to concede a goal and for us to lose, not because he didnt care. That's fine by me.
