Unbelievable! Granada-Espanyol, first the referee gives a FK to Espanyol for an unexisting passage to GK (and they score). Then Ighalo receives 2 yellows for protesting within 10 seconds.
    Shameful ref!

0-1 against Elche, 3 important points!! We were lucky but we deserved it!

Great match you are going to see! Hard to beat Atletico but maybe you will see a nice match.

Near the stadium you can go to ECU if you want tapas, great place, its my recommend one.

Just seen that Granada have only scored 6 goals in 10 games so far, joint lowest in La Liga.

Rojiblanco, do you think El-Arabi has enough goals in him for you to push into the top half of the table?

The problem is not the striker, we can use Arabi, Riki or Ighalo and we will be the losest striker team in La Liga.

The problem comes with Alcaraz, he is an ultradefensive coach, he preffer 0-0 to 4-3, and our play is just like: Ball to the goalkeeper, long ball to the striker, and he (obviously, because we dont have any 1,95m striker) loses the ball against the defenders. Once, and another, and another... Los Carmenes sang "Lucas, Leave Now" last match in Los Carmenes, people is starting to be absent to the stadium, get bored...

He sounds like a Spanish Aidy Boothroyd (our old manager).

We call that 'hoof' football here. Tends to require a big man up front like Deeney, strange tactic to use with your strikers.

Thanks Rojiblanco I'll have a look for ECU - hopefully Alcaraz switches up the tactics he might need to for Atletico!

Is it best to buy tickets in advance? looks like you get near full capacity crowds regularly..

Yeah, we get near full capacity regularly, but I dont think you need to buy it in advance, its a Thursday, working day, I think there will be less people than other matches... Just buy it before your "tapa time" and enjoy Los Carmenes!

    Strange times in Granada.

Since the "Lucas, leave the club" against Getafe, Lucas Alcaraz modified the tactic from a 4-2-3-1 to a 4-3-3. We are playing with Iturra (destructor), Recio and Fran Rico (creators) so we have more the ball and we don't play with long balls loosing it once and another. Our wing players play nearer to the opposite goalkeeper and our striker receive better balls.

Also, the new tactic made Foulquier start playing and he is a great discover. Riki, El Arabi and Ighalo fight for the striker position and Brahimi, Buonanotte, Pereira, Piti... for the wing positions. They play better to be on the starter 11.

Since then: Win on Elche and Levante and lose against Atletico (they had 2 penalties). Next match against Malaga.

Hopefully this is not just an illusion and Granada CF will play like that.

Piti just scored his 5th of the season on 47 minutes to put Granada 1-0 up against Valencia. Cross came in from the right, the defender messed up his clearance and Piti hit it first time into the far bottom corner. Great finish, strong position in the game. Neither team has exactly shone so far but the scoreline is promising.

EDIT: Stat from Sky Sports: of the 14 games Valencia have gone behind in this season, they have drawn 1 and lost 13.

And it's 1-1, 64 minutes in. Some dodgy defending from Granada, bad run of play started with a player (may have been Brahimi) not knowing when to release the ball and giving the ball to Valencia. A moment later, Feghouli put in a cross with no real purpose but Valencia's striker (who I should add was a head offside) got the right side of the Granada defender and poked it past the keeper who didn't seem to notice the striker coming in. Poor defending but it shouldn't have counted anyway.

EDIT: Sorry, quite bad with names but I think the Valencia scorer was Alcacer?

An observation from my fairly casual viewing of this is that Granada are doing the same as Watford did under Zola - instead of booting it clear in a dangerous position, they're keeping hold of it or trying to chip it to a team mate. That's what led to the Valencia goal and it's got them in trouble a couple of times. Saying that, I'm surprised just how little threat Valencia have posed.

Ruben Vezo scored a 91st minute winner for Valencia, free kick came in from near the right corner flag and pretty much avoided everyone until it came to Vezo about level with the far post, 6 yards out. The 19 y/o centre-back, on his first start since signing this January from Vitoria, taps the ball in with a first time, sidefooted volley. Disappointing end given that neither team shone.

Game finished, 2-1 win to Valencia. They're 7th on 35 points, Granada are 12th with 27 points and five points clear of the relegation zone.

Wow ... in the saturday where Granada beats 2-0 Villareal and Udinese beats 1-0 AC Milan ... WFC is not playing! This was a good chance for (I think) the first "3 Pozzo's wins" since the begin of season.

Very good results today anyway (also from the other Championship fields).

Granada - Elche in 3 1/2 hours, good game to win against a non-grateful enemy and make the distance with the relegation places bigger.

    We made it!

1-0, 11th place and 7 points over relegation places. Great dynamic last 3 matches.

Now Atletico de Madrid on wednesday and then Levante at home.

Well done roji! In the Pozzo's triad Granada this year was certainly the most successful team in going above expectations.
Udinese hoped to confirm good table positions but is in lower mid table.
WFC hoped in promotion chances but it seems extremely unlikely right now.
Granada hoped in an easier safety than in last two years, and it looks like it's well on the path and even better.
Very good, at least for one of the three.
