The Liverpool game was a Pyrrhic victory if ever there was one. In hindsight I’d rather we lost but had Deulofeu fit for the rest of the season. I Hate Van Dyke no matter how much Deeney loves him.
I get what you mean, although don't forget that we may still have found a way to **** it up with Geri and Sarr in the team lol
But isn’t the poorest we have been post lockdown? I’m not anything is worse than Burnley and Soton. Therefore surely we were less poor with him.
We were only poor with him when Sarr was out of the team and/or before Pearson was appointed, with the exception of the Palace home game, when Hayden Mullins revitalised the team and we were unlucky not to score. Unfortunately that "only" happens to have been the majority of this season.
We weren’t **** with him against Wolves and Cardiff and other games. I thought he was brilliant against Liverpool before Van Dyke took him out not just because of his ability but because of his energy and spirit which we could do with now. I know we’re crap now and it’s grim and depressing but I disagree with the tendency to write off everything we have done in the premiership under the Pozzos as a failure and some of our players have done well at times. (Sorry not aimed at you specifically but more a general observation on many posts I’ve read)
Sarr is a much better player. He’s been guff since the restart, but an on song Sarr is a far, far better player than an on song Deulofeu.
Deulofeu at his absolute best is completely unplayable. He is of course inconsistent and can appear to have a questionable attitude at times, but he is unquestionably one of the most talented players to ever wear our shirt, and comfortably the most talented out of the current squad.
Del edges it for me as Sarr isn't the finished product (his decision making is horrid) and we don't know yet how good he might be. We are lucky to have them both.... which makes it all the more bizarre we've stuck with Deeney in the middle of them.
Absolute crying shame we've only seen them start 12 games together this season, we'd be safe if we'd have had them both more often! Picked up 18 points in those 12 games, and that includes the **** spell at the start under QSF
After some reflection in terms of what they offer and how much worse we look without even one of them, I'd say it's 50-50 - Deulofeu is better defensively but can still at times be selfish going forward. But funnily enough when Sarr was out of the team, we looked more capable of scoring than we do now but couldn't hold onto leads, whereas with GD out we are really struggling to score. Also we seemed to have completely lost the knack of keeping clean sheets, but that can be attributed to the general decline in the team after the break.
Yeah, I think it's both together that really provides us with a different dimension. Deulofeu or Sarr playing on their own enables an opponent to double mark or put enough cover in down their side without compromising their own tactics too much. But when you have to defend against both, especially if they're up for it, it's far harder.
Indication he is off ? https://mobile.twitter.com/gerardeu...io/iframe/twitter.min.html1288052075453124608
He won't go until he's playing again. How fit he is after his injury will determine the level he plays at after he leaves us.
The Premier League have said that following consultation with the English Football League, a domestic-only window will also be added from October 5 and close on October 16. Transfers between Premier League clubs will not be able to occur during this period, but top-flight sides can trade with EFL clubs and loan or sign players permanently. Not sure if GD will be even playing by then but it gives the Premier league the chance to snatch any player who starts the season on fire. Effin annoying imo.
I would think GD is more likely to stay in the short term than Sarr. When you have a bad injury there is always a chance that it takes some time to get back to fitness and how long that will take.
There's nothing in that to suggest he wants to go. Just he's very sad we went down. If anything it looks quite positive to me, as he clearly has some affection for the club.
True - least he cares I guess. Any other players commented? Gray probably having a party and Kiko already gone to Span.
Thanks for posting. Enjoyed seeing tweets from the likes of Angella, Layun, and even Oscar Garcia wishing us a swift return to the promised land. Loved Angella.
Opening day next season: GK: Gomes CB: Angella CB: Wilmot CB: Cathcart RWB: Forestieri LWB: Layun CM: Hughes CM: Robot Horse AM: Quina CF: Cucho CF: Suarez Nobody will convince me this team wouldn’t absolutely piss the Championship.
Unfortunately that's true. I'm just wondering what Gracia will be up to especially if Ferran Torres gets snapped up. Don't want to think about it really.
Send them Sinclair and say it's a honest mistake. Valencia have always produced decent youngsters but even a club of their stature cannot avoid the cradle snatchers. These vultures are ruining the competitive nature of the game and denying any clubs developing a nucleus of a side to challenge them.
