Looks like £42 million to West Ham. Blimey that's some fee.

For us to get Deulofeu for only around a quarter of that is incredible really. Very similar level of player.

Their crash and burn into the Championship is truly going to be a thing to behold.

I think they might actually have a good season this year. New manager, got some decent players in to add to last year. I don’t think they will go down.

It never guarantees success. Be interesting to see how they start the season.

WHU are making a major effort to climb a rung up the EPL ladder.

Supersizing themselves through the stadium deal, transfer payments & wage bill.

But inside this London Hammers sumo is still the scrawny east end lad.

I imagine things will be fine while they’re winning but the flip side of the upward spiral is the rather more rapid downward spiral.

    Fascinating viewing.

West Ham clearly learning from last season after three solid Premier League sides got relegated by complacency. You have to strengthen every season, especially when promoted sides are signing the likes of Seri and Rui Patricio.

We've done well so far but we need goals to compete. The midfield is great, but without a consistent source of goals you need a really solid defence (see Burnley) to win games and we don't have that yet.

On business so far, Cardiff and Huddersfield look the weak points but that 3rd team could be anyone.

Or WHU clearly aren't learning from the many clubs like QPR, and Everton last season, that throwing money aimlessly at a situation isn't always the answer.

West Ham will win the league at a canter, in fact they will do so well that they will be invited to be in this seasons Champions League and play a one off exhibition match with the world champions from today's game

All because they signed Jack Wiltshire

You only have to ask yourself one question. Do you trust Pozzos throwing peanuts at, well everybody we have ever signed since they owned us, almost (Gray aside), or trust those in charge of West Ham? Pozzos vs Gold and Sullivan....

Yeah, in fairness I don't think this'll be the year they go down. But their debts will pile up under the porn brothers and the outcome is inevitable.

Are £20m chaps any likely to succeed than £8m ones?

I suspect not but, in Reids’ absence, maybe Moog can do the honours on the spreadsheet.

To be fair though, with their offices full of pictures of them, if one thing Sullivan and Gold are experts at, - it's making money from a Brazilian.

I've done the calculations and it's definitively so, that they are more likely. 3% more so.
