Possibly the only positive to our hammering in the final is that hopefully it would have meant more fans and people connected to the club would have finally come round to my view of the cups principally being unwelcome distractions.

Me. I'd always take a Cup win on the way to relegation.

If we stood a fighting chance of getting out of our present pickle, I'd agree with you. But I have given up hope of that.

 

Being knocked out the cup as soon as we come up against anything decent is nothing to look forward to.

The only remaining good which can come of this season is perhaps some youth team players gaining some additional experience or breaking in to the first team, and us perhaps eventually stumbling upon a new manager who'll be able to get us promoted again next season.

 

Well, again we will have to agree to differ. A run to the quarter finals would be better than nothing in my book. And the rest of the season looks very much like nothing to me.
