Most of their fans were happy with how they did in the end because Swansea had a very young and inexperienced team due to player sales .

Ofcouse the Premier league is a jump up and brings different expectations etc though ..

They ran close to the playoffs all season with a squad that was basically asset stripped. They had to rely on past it players like Routledge that they couldn't shift or kids from the academy for pretty much the whole season (which is how James got a break - although they almost sold him in January as well!). 10th seems fantastic (especially considering how well they knocked the ball around) when you take that into consideration! Had the youngest squad in the league by a considerable margin.

Interesting you say that, I got the impression that Swans fans were at large a pretty demanding if not over-expectant bunch.

They were pretty critical of Kenny after he got them promoted from League 2 and then only missed promotion to the Championship the following season on penalties, and Garry Monk after he took them to 8th in the Prem.

I guess relegation has humbled them like the board, and made them more patient and understanding with managers - TBF even in the Championship they are punching well above their weight, although they could become a modern day Watford.

Very good signing, considering what he did with limited resources at Swansea.

Brighton might be able to nab James now too, who looked like he was on his way to Man United and is a very good talent.

I think there have been issues with the new owners not willing to spend money to improve the squad and actually selling off key players which tempered expectations.

Huw Jenkins who was the long term chairman resigned because of the disconnect between fans and owners so its probably a club in a flux rather than the model club it used to be (according to the press) when they were in the Premier league with Rodgers and co.
