Luckily (for whom?) -he signed a 5 year deal so just this coming season and the one after that to go until it expires in June 2022.
Having him under a longer contract helps the club, even if he's crap. First, it lets the club spread out the depreciation on the signing and agent fees, easing any FFP pressure and potentially freeign up money for other purposes. Second, if they do get someone to come in for him, it gives us a better negotiation position, and let's the other club have more clarity on wages. All of that would be better, obviously, if he actually found the back of the net every so often.
Let them have him.....with Sarr and Delaf likely to go...how about Sturridge and Ighalo up top with Troy in behind when available...would terrorise Championship defences...surprised Pulis not mentioned in Manager possibilities....he gets teams promoted...not great to watch but points count...

What is it about his CV that would make him attractive? What has he actually achieved in his 27 years that would make someone think he’s tailor made for the situation we are in? Given how no one knows what’s going on in regards to the vacancy, I dare say that if you popped down to William Hill and bunged £25 on Pulis, he’d be amongst the favourites within the hour...almost worth doing just to see the meltdown (myself included) on here.

Karlan Grant is their main target but they are apprehensive at the £16m fee so Gray is the alternative. Unless we really need wages off the books and he’s not had his wage cut, I wouldn’t understand this. He has more to offer to this team currently than Deeney.
Really feels like we are just trying to ship out everyone except the proven deadwood like the centre backs, on loan or otherwise. Surely Gray will be good in the Championship? Well we have sold one player on 70k a week and Gray might be better in the Championship. If we sell Suarez too we'd have no strikers with pace unless Welbeck is staying and Pedro or Sarr play centrality.
Considering we've only sold Doucoure and everything else is just internet gossip I think you might be overreacting a bit.
We should tell them they can have Deeney and that's it. Where does that leave Troy if even WBA really are now turning their attentions elsewhere?!
I’d say the players not integrated into the current squad would indicate players we want to sell. And now Gray who has been involved is seemingly available as well. Do you think Pereyra/Deeney/Welbeck will suddenly be in the squad on Friday? There should be a balance in terms of selling players and mounting a promotion challenge. Just seems like there is no coherent strategy to me, but it’s little surprise with the current management structure.
