In the Greek world, there are lots of people with the same first and last name. It's positively standard.

I used to work on a Roman archaeological site with a lady called Maureen Sayeck (she called herself "Mo")

I also went to public school with a very posh boy called Henry Stock-Racy (went by "Harry")

When I lived in Australia, I worked with a chap called Homer Naway

I went to a cultural festival at the University of Queensland in Brisbane a few years ago - there was an Indian singer called Naway appearing. Surely must be a relative...

An MC worked with me as a consultant doing training sessions many years ago.

Frankly we didn’t get on so I was able to introduce him each time with ‘And now here’s my ****’, ‘There aren’t many people who know more about account negotiation than my ****’, ‘And to keep us entertained until lunch, here’s my ****’.

It took him a little while to realise what was going on.

Hilarious when a very respectful Indian fellow started saying in exactly the same way.

Before moving away for 7th grade in California, my little girlfriend in 6th grade in Hawaii was named April. Naturally her three sisters were named March, May and June. (Her brother was Joe.) Their surname was December. For years I thought I hallucinated the whole thing but when Facebook emerged, I found her and got confirmation. Why do parents do that sort of thing?
