Can't go to this one as we did last year, combining it with a visit to our eldest, Aethelred, who's at uni in Leicester. A bit of a shame. I like Leicester as a city. We went here last year and it was very nice. Leicester CAMRA's pub of the year apparently:- http://www.blueboarleicester.co.uk/ and then we went on to here (about 20 paces away) to eat and that was also good. Massive helpings and cheap:- http://firebugbar.net/gallery-2/ Also met some friendly Leicester types in there who accompanied us on the stagger to the ground.....
Well you'd think, but there's not a lot in the centre of note and neither around the ground. I walked the length of Narborough Road, which I'd understood to be the district where best us Kremlins would merge in. It was mainly just fried chicken and burger stuff. One or two (closed until the evening) Indian take aways, but they just looked bog standard to be honest from outside at least. The best I could find was a very decent Jerk chicken wrap, which was worth the long wait while they cooked it. It was so flippin' big I took half home for Cif to microwave and have for tea and she really liked it too.
Ahh Firebug! Went to uni of Leicester and liked that place. Got too busy on friday/saturday nights though.
I was at uni in Leicester too - Narborough Road takes me back....For a very short spell, I was a waitress at a restaurant called, if memory serves correct, The Rum Runner. No idea if it still exists. My waitressing career didn't last long - for some reason my assumption that I could just bugger off when uni broke up for the holidays it didn't go down too well....
On the topic of Leicester and going to uni there. In 2nd and 3rd year I lived in Evington. Close to highfields. An absolute **** hole of a place. We got burgled one night and actually caught the burglar in the act. I was asleep but my mates came in from a night out and started screaming we'd been burgled. It was at that point the burglar locked himself in a bedroom until the police came. Lovely place.
Was it leicester you went to last year and went to a museum before (or after) the match? I remember your report of it. If that was leicester, then I went to a decent curry house before the match if I remember right, not that far from the ground.
It was cheaper rent. Also I was staying in Oadby in first year which was lovely. I wanted to experience both sides of Leicester so went for the complete opposite 2nd and 3rd year.
I've honestly got barely any memory of the day at all. But that probably wasnt due to being too pissed, just that that's the case for most watford matches. So tedious my mind erases all record of it.
Yep that's right. We went to Newarke Houses Museum. It was pretty good. There was a WW1 trench simulation you could walk through and all sorts.
We had our student house burgled in Nottingham one christmas by the decorator hired by and given a key by our bent crook of a landlord. It’s almost a rite of passage.
He brought his kid with him once, he’d turn up unannounced in the evenings, let himself in and go about his business until someone asked the scary ******* to leave. Anyways, his young lad pointed my at flatmate’s Xbox in the front room and said ‘Daddy I want one of those for Christmas’..... we gets back after crimbo and it’s gone along with the telly and a load of games. No signs the house was broken into and nothing else taken. The flatmate claimed on the insurance and I don’t know what he said to the police but nothing else came of it. Could have just been scamming the insurance in hindsight, he was a greasy little git. The same decorator also left a knuckleduster and a baseball bat in our garage, I **** you not.
I wish I still had the photos of some of his ‘decorating’, it was so funny. A flatmate pointed out the vast, yawning chasm he’d left in the doorway when he’d laid the laminate. Most people would go to B&Q and buy a door bar.... he stomped back to his van, grabbed a tube of caulk and pumped the entire thing into the gap, tried to smooth it over with a credit card and ****ed off into the night.
You realise that's not his face ? He's actually a miserable git and looks like Jeremy Corbyn..I want Leicester to win so that Puel signs an extended contract
There should be a separate Referee analysis thread after this match - let us boring ***** talk about the game here and the more boring ***** talk about referees in their own separate thread.
Well no wonder we haven't heard about Mr Scott that much - he hasn't done a Premier league game since August ..
Doombar???? Strong ale he said. Can accept ESB, Abbot, Bishops Finger, and many others, but Doombar ??
