Not in the squad again today. Reports in Venezuela say he arrived at Malaga unfit and hasn't been working hard enough in training to impress the coach. Sounds like a perfect fit for Watford!
No, Deeney is related to the guy who scored against us at Southampton, I think Manologabbia is his first name.
Unused sub for Venezuela last night as they drew 2-2 with Peru. Of more interest than his continual lack of playing time, it appears he has an international team mate called Rolf Feltscher. Also has a team mate at Malaga called Juankar. I hope we sign both.
He scored a goal against Barcelona tonight, only for it to be disallowed for offside. Took the chance well though.
Feltscher and Juankar would team up perfectly . If we could tempt David Seaman and Stefan k u n tz out of retirement we would be well on way to a dream team schoolboy humour tee hee first XI
tbf the lino was the wrong side to notice the defenders feet playing him on, he'd have just seen a white shirt
This guy and Berghuis I feel are great potentials to become great players. Does anyone know when Peneranda's work permit is to be sorted?
I don't think he'll ever qualify for one. Best hope is for him to get Spanish citizenship though who knows what impact Brexit will have on the usefulness of that.
He's not going to magically meet any of the criteria he failed to meet a year ago. I suspect he'll never play for us.
Looked great at Granada but has declined massively since. I've heard rumours about his attitude but for whatever reason he didn't play at Udinese and two coaches haven't picked him for Malaga either. When he does occasionally get on the pitch he unsurprisingly looks horrendously unfit and slow. Hope he doesn't fall into the Freddy Adu list of wonderkids who never made it.
Penaranda hopefully getting his mojo back at the FIFA u20 World Cup - scored today vs Vanuatu and had an assist in both games so far as Venezuela beat Germany 2-0 and then Vanuatu 7-0. Today's assist was for Williams Velasquez who's also our player. . Pervis Estupinan is also playing in the competition for Ecuador and played the whole game as they drew 3-3 with the US in their first game.
Another assist for Penaranda, this time against Mexico. That's three in three games in the group stage, to add to his goal against the mighty Vanuatu. Williams Velasquez played again too, helping Venezuela to their third clean sheet in as many games. They'll play one of the third place teams in the next round. Not such a good game for Pervis Estupinan, as Ecuador lost 2-0 to Saudi Arabia. He got skinned in the lead up to the first goal, then didn't bother tracking back for the second as his man run unchallenged into the area.
Haha, Fifa do good little 2 min highlights of each game on their YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/user/FIFATV
According to the Venezuelan press, Penaranda signed for Malaga on a season and a half loan, taking him up to the end of 2017/18. They were looking to cut him loose from it but after his impressive performances in the u20 World Cup, they're hoping to keep him and get a full pre-season done with him so he's in better condition. #willneverplayforus
The extra 18 months will take him to 24 months of contiguous residence in Spain, which will make him eligible for a Spanish passport and thus entry to the UK before Brexit muddies the water. I wouldn't rule it out yet. He's clearly not going to get a work permit as things stand so the Spanish passport is the smart move. To be honest, I'm a little confused as to why they took him out of Spain in the first place; getting him a EU passport make him much more valuable.
