Adam Armstrong was 20 million I think when going to Southampton whilst they were in the Premier league.
I think he would do really well in the prem. I think we will have to reluctantly accept the £20m offer when it comes in. Maybe a bidding war could push it higher.
One of the dumbest decisions ever. Deeney was a pretty good passer of the ball and able to bustle past the odd defender to get onto a through ball but spent the last few years with us hanging around the halfway line getting into wrestling battles and generally giving defenders their easiest afternoon all season.
When Troy was in the studio for the Leeds game over Easter, they showed footage of the last time we beat Leeds, I had a little wry smile when he was bigging himself up about the pace that he used to have. I wonder what caused him to want to bulk up, was it vanity, or was it because he felt he couldn't outpace or outskill Prem defences and thought the only way he could compete was to bulk up?
Almost certainly the latter in my opinion. Always seemed a lot of bravado but underneath that he wasn't quite sure he was good enough. And other than the first couple of Premier League seasons, he wasn't!
I completely forgot he existed. Bizarrely he's been playing RCB in a back 3 for them lately; rather odd as he looked much better going forwards than defensively in his brief time with us.
Whatever people's opinions of Ngakia's strengths and weaknesses, I can confidently say that he's technically a professional footballer, so good news IMHO.
Would imagine his loan be made permanent in the summer (hopefully for an inflated fee). Pretty sure I saw an article recently that had someone at Udinese singing his praises (along with Okoye who's been doing very well there as well)
Would imagine we simply get our money back, which perhaps would be decent business for Udinese, but also more value than we'd get from him on the pitch if you get what I mean
Well it's good to know they're getting some use out of them and their signings weren't ultimately complete wastes.
You are confused. You are Gino, but Gino is one of mine. It's been my greatest triumph so far tbh. Even better than the Red Helmet I invented, as that was a little too unbelievable.
Here is a list of those to go:- Bachmann - too loud mouth and not the greatest in some aspects of the game.. Hamer - too old. Andrews - too lacking in talent, too prone to catastrophic errors, too many daddy issues and given a free pass by indulgent supporters just because he's 'one of our own' Morris - too shįt Livermore - too old Rajovik - too shīt Dennis - too divisive Kone - too inconsistent Arseprilla - too tempting to cash in
Not sure there is any concrete evidence that Dennis is divisive. However we have no chance of getting him back as our finances are in **** street. Kone is inconsistent due to his relative youth, but if we stick with him I think he could go for big money in a couple of years. The rest I go along with.
I know there was talk about Hamer and Livermore having another season before they get canned. Not sure how much truth is in that statement, but that's the impact of social media. Asprilla will no doubt be sold regardless in the Summer as he is our highest valued player, but whether another club with a bit of cash wants to take the chance on him is another matter. His performances as of late have not really made him leap off the front pages.
Would be interesting to see what squad we might be left with after that and a total of $3-5m to spend on all the replacements/loans.
I would like to see the squad decimated, like people say, but properly. Roman style. As used by Julius Caesar to raise morale along the legions. As punishment for failure to get promoted and to inspire them for the new season ahead, every tenth squad member should be taken out the back of London Colney and shot.
No way we get rid of Bachmann and Hamer, since Hamer apparently isn't signing a new deal, it looks like Bachmann is here to stay, hopefully we sign another keeper to seriously challenge for the #1 jersey, Hamer was a pleasant surprise in that regard. I've said it before about Andrews, he's been poor lately, but it is his first year in professional football, he's definitely worth sticking with, not least because the alternative is Ngakia (I don't think anyone would be seriously interested in him at this stage anyway). Morris won't suit any system with wing-backs, but he won't fetch much so I doubt we'll get rid, Livermore is in the same position as Hamer, apparently we offered him a new deal a while ago but we haven't heard anything on that recently (even when Ngakia signed his new deal, which must be a sign that he's off). Very unlikely we get Dennis back, can't see anyone wanting Rajovic (don't think he'd improve anyone in this division with the means to actually sign him, perhaps a team in a mid-ranking league in Europe?), Kone is the one whose future I think is most in the air, he is undoubtedly very talented, but very inconsistent, if someone does offer the £8m we paid for him, take it all day long, if someone offers, say, £5-6m, do we stick or twist on that? Asprilla will surely be one of the first out of the door, probably for about £10m to a Europa League/Conference League team in a 6th to 10th ranked league in Europe
I'd say put Bachmann's head on a spike. But, to be fair, we could put the gruesome spike in goal and it would probably come off its line more.
