The premier league are just the clubs in it, and they voted for the current FFP rules back in 2013, as soon as the rules they all happily voted for, and presumably thought were a good idea start to get enforced, they suddenly don’t like those rules anymore and decide they’re not fit for purpose.

I mean what is the actual point, as soon as any rules they initially decide are a good idea actually get enforced, they’ll just decide they aren’t a good idea - because they’re getting enforced against them. No wonder they’re scared of an independent regulator because at the moment it’s just a case of marking their one homework and complaining as soon as their own rules need to be enforced.

The current FFP rules apparently only work ok as long as everyone sticks to them, but become automatically not fit for purpose if they don’t.

Was more to amuse than inform but hey ho.

Is it comedy? I didn’t watch. It is funny seeing ‘journalists’ and the like just noticing the impending death of football.

He’s a comedian so it’s a sarcastic look at how football glorifies the success and ignores the ownership. Breaks into a spoof interview of how ex owner Ashley would have been treated by the media if his shops had been guilty of murdering their employees to enhance profits. Not the funniest in the world but mildly amusing I thought.

Wolves goal disallowed I thought was a good call. Gary Linekre and Ian Wright moaning that the keeper could move? Yeah he's taking the optimal position, why should he move out of the way because the forward is blocking his movement and view? That nuts.

If you take up that position you need to accept that you'll be offside if the ball goes towards goal.

    I don't get the fuss.

    Typical ex strikers !

The main argument seems to be the keeper wouldn’t get there but can that be proved either way and should officials be guessing like that ?

Even if it shouldn't have been disallowed I'm not sure the Wolves pen should have really been given - so two bad calls cancelling each other out in the end.

Three teams separated by a single point and goal difference...

This has to be the closest title race I've ever seen. As for the relegation fight, I hate to think this but the cavemen have a great chance of getting out of it. Sheff Utd look doomed now, so it has to be two from Lootown, Everton, Forest and Burnley.

Apparently Everton are going to lose 2 more points.

    No doubt they will appeal.

Get less deducted for doing the same thing twice .

They've already been sanctioned for two of the years.
One point deduction would be fair but since when is anything fair, especially in the lunacy of modern football?

Maybe eventually these clubs will learn not to put themselves in such situations and learn to be wise with their money but who knows.

Doesn't really encourage them to do so only losing the odd point here and there though.

But them there is the Man City issue - whilst there is no ruing on them people will say why us?

Even a point or two could have significant financial ramifications if it means relegation, though.

Not hugely significant in the wider scheme of things, but each place is also worth about £2m, so as it stands their points deduction will still have cost them £4m in prize money if they stay up.

Less money for them to waste!

I guess at this stage of the season might have been better to use the points deduction next season?.

Teams will be in the same boat next year too.

Even teams like Villa and Newcastle have been warned I think

Wonder if Saka was expecting a penalty last night which he might have got in a PL game ?

The ref and VAR saw through his attempts to win the foul .

Not Premier League exactly - but Watford now have another potentially annoying club not too far away from us up the M1(ish) to worry about.

Also another mega-rich potential Ametican investor in us scratched off the list:

"Winklevoss twins chase ‘great underdog story’ with stake in non-league football team
Billionaire entrepreneurs invest £3.6m in bitcoin in ninth-tier Real Bedford

The billionaire bitcoin brothers Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss have become co-owners of a semi-professional football team that plays in the ninth tier of the English league system.

The identical twins’ investment fund, Winklevoss Capital, has used $4.5m (£3.6m) in bitcoin to buy a 45pc stake in Real Bedford, which competes in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division and has an average attendance of 440.

The team is majority owned by Peter McCormack, a bitcoin investor and podcast host who has made it his ambition to take the side into the Premier League."

Bad day for SpurS - they get caught out too much .

And with Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool more performances like this will see them slip out of the top 4/5.
