Might be the worst player I’ve ever seen. And I’ve watched drunk geezers stumbling round in Sunday league games.
It's shocking. Sick of hearing Tommy Mooney big him up on hive live talking sh1te about how Raj can win the headers and hold it up better than Dennis.
Nothing new about today. Despite the wishful thinking that if we only cross to him he'll do the business, he had one perfect cross put right on his unmarked centre of the goal bonce today and couldn't have headed it further over.
It's clear he doesn't know what he's talking about, he described Kayembe as a defensive midfielder, and Asprilla as pacy when he's definitely not that pacy (though he seemed to contradict himself on Asprilla a few times)
It’s not his fault he’s terrible. He was plucked by a godawful coach from a godawful league to be our main striker. The coach who has been at pains to tell us how it was his choice should be dismissed based on this alone.
It was quite sad today as the people around me were feeling embarrassed for him when he came on and gave the ball away . His confidence has clearly gone however he didn't hide and kept going which was good to see.
It’s easy to feel sorry for him, because it’s just ridiculous to see an amateur footballer at this level. On the other hand, here’s a guy who 18 months ago had no footballing carreer and now he’s probably making 10k per week on a 5 year contract. After taxes he’ll have made around 1.2 million when his contract is up in 2028, which sets him up nicely for the rest of his life. He can then go back to Denmark and play a few years in the Danish second tier while he finishes some education or goes into coaching. So while it’s painful to watch someone getting laughed at every other week I don’t really think there’s much to feel sorry about.
I actually feel sorry for him, he's clearly out of his depth as a Championship player but his confidence has also tanked. Think it'll be back to Sweden for him or potentially league one
People round me were openly laughing at him within minutes of him coming on. I was surprised as I’ve not really seen him get that reaction before. A couple of people cracked up completely when he did a silly lame jump and missed the ball on halfway by miles.
Yep. I have already said that I think his confidence has gone and maybe a month ago he would have got either his header or shot on target.
Probably a false dawn, but he looked different today. I thought he looked useful- brought a couple of balls down nicely and passed the ball into the channels well. Also almost out-sprinted their right back. Got across his marker each time waiting for a cross to come in. Fair play to him.
I agree. Looked like a footballer. And he’s working his socks off in training. Could say it’s a false dawn, but let’s not forget he’s scored 13 goals.
I remember Mooney saying on a livestream a couple of months ago that if he was 5ft 8 Rajovic would have been a postman. I'm still on the fence with Rajovic to be honest, has looked complete turd in some games and looked a right handful in others, plus his running style is comical even for a big man. Without his league goals we would probably have been deep in the sh1t though, so... Probably best as an impact sub after our speedy men have tired out defences a bit, bring big Rajo on to batter them around plus he wont look so woefully slow against tired legs.
He's not really good enough for this league, despite a half decent goal tally. I stand by what I said in the autumn, he's just a foreign Scott Fitzgerald, and an expensive one at that. I will get behind him because at the end of the end, he's one of ours, he looks like he's trying, he's scoring enough and it wasn't his fault someone brought him into to a league that he's not good enough for. I'll be surprised if he's still with us for the start of the 25/26 season.
I suspect the mad world of football will see some team buy him in the summer. Three more goals this season should seal a £19 million move. (Yes I have been drinking).
Any outsider would think our fans are weird and entitled for the way they dismiss a striker with a goal every 164 minutes at this level.
Indeed. Allowing for about 5 mins injury time each half these days, that's about 28 goals a season in this league.
I'm sure if you look at Championship strikers on a goals/minutes basis, Mileta is right near the very top.
Yes. Hopefully his all-round play picks up like Ross Jenkins (snr) did over the years. Not that I'm saying he'll ever become another RJ.
With the raw data you're not wrong. And I'd like him to do well, he's not a boo boy and seems to come over as likeable; yet we have eyes, we can see he's limited. Having said that he does appear to have improved, perhaps time will tell.
If you look at open play goals every X minutes in the Championship, then out of players who have played more than 900 minutes (so more than 10 games' worth of minutes), then Rajovic is currently 10th. The top 20 from 1st to 20th runs: Sargeant - 97 Vardy - 132 Szmodics - 147 Connolly - 152 Ugbo - 152 Riis - 157 Broadhead - 161 Che Adams - 161 Rowe -162 Rajovic - 172 Dan James - 177 Bamford - 177 Simms - 181 Whittaker - 181 Forss - 186 Keane - 188 Gnonto - 189 Latte Lath - 196 Adam Armstrong - 198 Coburn - 199
I bet he’s miles out in front. Can’t think of any striker that remotely comes close in fox-in-the-boxiness.
I always thought Ross’ all round & link-up play was good even before GT arrived. It was his lack of goals that made him uninspiring, a fault GT rapidly rectified!
You would know better than me as I only started watching us a handful of games into GT's first season with us 8th in the league. However I had seen him described as an ungainly giraffe on stilts, who yes put in the effort but didn't look like a footballer. I certainly understood that he wasn't pleasing on the eye in those first couple of seasons in the same way Raj isn't know. At least Raj scores !
Agreed. I’ve not seen all the stats but I think if you drilled down you’d find that despite him being the worst striker to ever play for us, he’s still the best striker in the Champo, stat for stat. By far.
This is a view which I have heard every single poster on this forum express, as well as every single Watford fan. In fact, I think it'd be a struggle to find a Watford fan who has not stated this opinion.
