Think we should probably leave him alone to enjoy retirement. He's had health issues and is getting on a bit, don't think he needs to be pestered by fans of a club he's already done more than enough for.
Im sure he said at his gig at the Vic nearly 2 years ago that after his tour ended that November he was going to come back into the fold at the club and be more involved. November came and went. Nothing ever happened.
I am sure he is well aware of the current state of the club like we are at a fanbase level, but as others said it's not really the most practical thing to concentrate on now for him. If he really wanted to help I am sure he would do anything he could, and if he was say 20 years younger he would kicking down Gino's door. He has more or less immortalized himself with the club alongside GT, for me personally, that is more than enough of a contribution to where we are on the football map.
Scary thing is, he would do it as well. Give him the funds and the backing he would happily kick out Pozzo and initiate a power move. I've heard him speak about the club/ownership enough on spaces to be pretty clued up on what he wants us to be. He's a passionate fan and he only wants us to get back to the glory days and I do respect that. Problem is the game has moved on too much for that to happen as quickly as he thinks it would.
It's time to recruit a younger pop star with local links to take on his mantle, get involved, and back the club. What about that Taylor Swift - I think she might be a Rickmansworth lass?
It's not happening. He's really frustrated at the current malaise and doesn't understand what Pozzo is doing. He's spent money, years and energy on the club. He's 76. He ain't coming back.
Who’d think GP would actually talk openly to SEJ about anything significant? Not the way control freaks work.
He doesn’t need to. Elton can just look at the debt, and the lack of investment, the allegations and the awful culture and conclude the same as our sensible fans do.
Geri Horner? Whinger Spice might be getting the boot from Red Bull and might fancy a bit more sporting action. Sails clsoe to the wind with the rulles, we have form for this. Anthony Joshua could kick Gino's door down. Or we could go for another Gino. Gino D'Campo is local ish.
Mila Kunis Geri Horner Anthony Joshua Dream Team. A strong and well respected boxer. An ex-pop star with a big mouth and ego to match (female Deeney)? A Hollywood star who would be more eye-candy than anything, but she is a fan. Sorted.
My comment was really aimed at stating that GP probably doesn’t want SEJ involved in any way beyond having a stand named after him and the occasional waving walk-on the pitch accompanied by his family.
Out of curiosity what glory days do you want us to get back to? Are you talking about getting back to the GT/EJ glory days?
That would be nice. But I guess just back to a level that we can enjoy going to watch Watford again without the constant feeling of wrong doings and dodgy agents at the highest level. We probably will never see the likes of Capoue and Richarlison here again (unless we got a massive cash injection) but that doesn't bother me as long as we have a team who play for the shirt, the fans, the club and they want to be here.
