A display of extraordinary belligerence from madcap Kemi Badenoch in front of the Women and Equalities Committee. She first chillingly suggests that ‘life will improve’ for transgender people if all of the predators are sorted out (imagine saying that about Muslims, Jews or Christians). Channelling the things despots have always said about minorities, completely ignoring the culture of fear her Party has created for votes. She then accuses Labour MP Kate Osbourne of lying after Osbourne refers to unhelpful comments by Badenoch about trans ‘disease’ spreading. This was sloppy by Osbourne, who didn’t have the quote on hand. In fact, Badenoch referred to an ‘epidemic’ again a word you wouldn’t use about other minorities. Badenoch’s outrage is performative and false, but she is being widely praised for her ‘common sense.’ This coming after she condemned ‘woke archaeology’ writing to the London Musuem to express her displeasure at its research into plague victims and its findings on ethnicity. You pay her wages. https://x.com/rubyjll/status/1734987440073458175?s=46&t=oqOMSJXE_g7J5C7kNPG9LA https://www.theguardian.com/politic...ague-study-after-mp-calls-it-woke-archaeology
If/when there is a by election, the 2019 intake of Red Wall Tories will be watching with interest. Labour held Blackpool South for 22 years until 2019.
Braverman gets pranked into receiving The Last Leg’s **** of the Year award. A bit childish but if you inspire fascists onto the streets you are going to get sent up and deserve it.
Seems that Baroness Mone has the same advisors as Prince Andrew. Laura Kuenessberg's interview with her and her husband (whose guts were bursting out of his shirt) was another car crash almost as entertaining as Randy Andy's. What is wrong with these people? "Yes, I lied but I wasn't trying to pull the wool over peoples' eyes" !!!!! Oh, just f**k off. And nobody chooses to live on the Isle of Man. Tax avoidance is the only possible reason to base yourself there
It was as though they hadn't prepared at all. Is the fact the money (at least £20 million) is in a trust fund controlled by her husband, rather than residing in Mone's bank account, supposed to make us say "ah, that's ok then"? Or because others, including potentially government officials, had their noses in the trough during a national crisis it was ok for them to be doing it too? I hope the criminal charges stick and they lose the civil legal cases. Perhaps if they lose their ill gotten gains, and may be their freedom, they might actually gain some humility.
Miriam Cates (of Hell) under investigation by the Standards Committee for allegedly damaging the reputation of Parliament. Well, quite. She’s an absolute horror. The sort of person who thinks the world of The Handmaid’s Tale a good idea, but a bit liberal. https://news.sky.com/story/tory-mp-...on-by-parliaments-standards-watchdog-13033359
ISTR she's getting done for repeatedly spouting shyte about "...cultural Marxism...". Normally I would give bible-thumping Tories the benefit of the doubt for using this blatanat AS codeword by pointing out how dim they, usually, are - but she's got a degree in (neuro?)science...
Lord Bethell, who claims he lost his phone in 2021 and couldn't access any WhatsApp messages prior to that? THAT Lord Bethell? And yet you found this one to try to get you out of the Michelle Mone ****? https://twitter.com/JimBethell/status/1736772936097202293
Interesting that Bethel is imploring Sunak to investigate - as Sunak was the person (as CotE) signing the cheques at the time...
Hilarious that Mone is claiming she was honest with the government, and she doesn't understand why the investigation when the government knew about her position from the start. She lied about not being involved in the deal to award the PPE contract for years, and further lied about not profiting on it (to the tune of ~60 million). But trust her bro, she's on the level when she says the government knew the whole time. Oh, wait... Bethel says she's full of ****. Shocking stuff!
That honestly looks like a text message rather than Whatsapp. At least, that's what iMessage texts look like over here.
So, Michelle Mone, who denied any involvement in the MedPro PPE scandal is now saying that Rishi Sunak and 'the government' knew about her involvement from the very beginning. Rats in a sack all turning on each other now. Meanwhile, the US has no interest in a UK trade deal, despite all the frothing Brexity flag-wavers saying that it was more or less a done deal.
It's a WhatsApp. Someone published the conversation, not just the Mone bit. Edit. Turns out you may be right. But if he can get old apple messages, is there any reason he can't get WhatsApps.
What should be shocking about Mone, but isn’t, is the utter disregard for the Standards of Public Life, which demand honesty, openness, accountability and selflessness. It does not seem to occur, as a member of the Lords, that these apply to her. But then look at the leadership at the time. Johnson just laughed at the Standards, encouraging this corrupt clique to believe they simply didn’t apply.
I currently have a droid so this might not be 100% accurate, but from what I know Whatsapp messages are stored on the device, and back up to iCloud. As a result it should be possible to restore them to the device *IF* a backup exists. It is certainly possible for texts to be on a device and the Whatsapp messages to not be, of course. The scenario under which that would happen is someone deleted all of the Whatsapp messages by hand. If the device had been lost and the text messages restored from backup, logically the Whatsapp messages should also have been restored. I'm not sure what the exact posited chain of events is for the device in question.
Bone recalled. And the deluded **** is banging on about the people who didn't vote to recall him as if this was a mandate. ****.
Given that 85% of the electorate clearly support him I'm sure he'll win the by-election with ease, running as an independent candidate.
The Tories' client media desperately trying to spin some sort of economic recovery from the fact inflation is not going up as much as it was is quite something. Truly we're in the era of blindfolded Trussonomics when a rise of 3.9% is hailed as a victory. I wonder if their spin fools anyone. Don't people do their shopping, pay their bills and not notice that they're significantly higher than a year ago – and still rising? Meanwhile, the rigged market has decided that rail fares will rise by 4.9% in the new year. Time and time again, the British public go into the casino with the Government and the corporations and come out with nothing.
Cringeworthy photo op as Sunak buys six packets of supermarket mince pies as a ‘treat’ for key workers. I can only conclude he was hoping for abuse that he could then blame on the London Mayor. https://x.com/skynews/status/1738225381361258873?s=46&t=oqOMSJXE_g7J5C7kNPG9LA
Apparently the government’s new comms wheeze is to copy big brands to try and inspire nostaga and to ‘associate messaging with trusted brands’… https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/...s-tesco-ikea-voter-loyalty-campaign-n2wf6gxdz Here’s some examples: Though I prefer this one…
Tories having a problem with suitable language for their positions. Cleverly oafishly jokes about giving his wife a little bit of Rohypnol each night and let’s remind ourselves He’s the Home Secretary responsible for law and order in a society with a serious problem of violence against women (Makes face like Munch’s The Scream). And then reasonable criticism about armed forces homelessness from the Labour candidate for Johnny Mercer MP’s seat, retweeted by Carol Vorderman who applauds him for holding Mercer to account, receives this outburst from Mercer, Minister of State.
The Tories, contd. Goes on to explain how Labour would ‘just throw money at them’ which sounds like he disagrees with helping them because they are ‘crap.’ Full quotes here, https://news.sky.com/story/crap-par...g-children-tory-mp-james-daly-claims-13038891
Yeah, on the one hand, he’s right that there are a lot of crap parents out there. Anyone involved in education in any way sees the evidence of that every day. Mrs UEA comes home with stories of cold Happy Meals in lunchboxes, kids playing Squid Games in the playground after watching it the night before and worse. Last term I saw a parent front up to a teacher in the playground and call him a c*nt in front of his son. And obviously in the police I saw some utterly horrendous excuses for parents. However, Daly’s diagnosis is pathetic. ‘The Left’ don’t advocate throwing money at things. The last Labour government funded social work properly, set up the network of Sure Start centres, sought holistic solutions to big issues. It didn’t get everything right. There were high profile cases of vulnerable children failed by the state on Labour’s watch, so we have to be careful not to pretend it was a utopia. But the Tories just don’t give a sh*t. Their consistent approach over 13 years has been to cut everything, see what bleeds and then maybe, possibly, if you can shout loud enough, hand back a handful of pennies to do a job that needs pounds. And the ‘New Conservatives’ might want to distance themselves from that - in fact it’s obvious why they want to - but they’re just re-badging it and trying to sell it to the same electorate. It’s time we dealt with the crap politicians that dominate these days. That even goes for the response from James Frith for Labour. He should be talking about Labour’s vision, not denying there are bad parents out there.
