Well done us. I feel there’s more to like than not like about us lately, and that’s encouraging to see.

Into the top ten now, three points off 6th place. But the division’s in-form side up next.

How far out is that for the goal? 45-50 yards? Chip/lob into the opposite corner. Keeper playing high all game. Fully intentional shot at goal. Great piece of skill.

Perfect away performance against a side that have lost once at home all season before today and have been in and around the top 6 for weeks. We obviously didn’t control chunks of the game, and at times we probably surrendered too much territory to them, but in recent seasons that would have been a certain defeat. Yet here we not only weathered the storm, we came out the other side and punched back at them.

Hamer had a great game. Bachmann shouldn’t get a look in for now.

Lovely move for the first goal. Almost a flowing a passing move.

Hoedt MOTM even without his ridiculous goal. The number of interceptions he was making was awesome.

Kone not quite as influential today as his stellar hour against Norwich. Every good moment seemed to be swiftly followed by a completely unforced error.

Whisper it quietly but while he was no more mobile than ever, Raj actually managed to trap the ball, hold it up long enough to allow teammates to make runs and then lay the ball off to them with sensible passes.

    Get in!

Fantastic performance from Hoedt there. Even before the goal he was a one man defence at times with some great last-ditch challenges. There were occasions when today looked like one game a week too far for Livermore - not helped by him being a yellow away from a suspension perhaps - but Hoedt was often there to bail him (and sometimes Porteous) out.

It had been a fairly even game before that strike, but the manner in which we conceded the equaliser was very disappointing after the good work we'd put in to take the lead first time around. One of Livermore or Porteous had to take their man out before he got so close to the box, and even an excellent Hoedt tackle couldn't prevent the goal.

Kayembe was also excellent in the middle of the park today. Kone was also very good as well in pretty much everything up until his final ball at times.

The lack of consistency and experience down our right hand side was a bit of an issue again, especially once Andrews picked up a needless booking, and once Sema tired down the left meaning we didn't have any outlets on the flanks for a while.

Rajovic actually produced some good hold-up play today, even though he didn't get any chances to score. Bayo also helped when he came on.

Lastly credit to Hamer - plenty have given him stick, myself included (and rightfully so), but he hardly put a foot wrong today. The penalty save was justice done. As with the one vs Leicester it looked very soft. Having said that, Livermore shouldn't have given the ref a decision to make by lazily leaving his foot in (same as Bachmann not needing to make the challenge vs Leicester).

We definitely seem to have turned a corner this season and the hard work and team spirit is starting to reap some rewards.

Magnificent, a warrior like defensive display, a great penalty save and a wonder goal that will go down in WFC lore. 5 out of 5.

It was a good game all round and I can see why Hull are up there, we beat a good side today.

To be fair, it's probably also a bit on the manager who I suspect will have encouraged him to basically be playing like a sweeper.

Bit of a smash and grab but it’s time we ve had something go our way after dominating several
games without winning this season .

I have no idea how you can have a job in professional football and label that as a "fluke". He 100% intended it from the moment he won the ball back.

We re not too far from being a good team.

Just need to stop conceding such poor goals that are very preventable . Also there are too many unforced errors in midfield where we lose possession and concede momentum back to the opposition.

Get a real feel Big Val is building something here .

What an absolute pleasure to watch us play as a team!!

Fully deserved win, we were under the cosh for a lot of that second half, but in the first half we should've gone in ahead really. Rode our luck a bit second half but we made that luck!!

As stated above, Hoedt was exceptional, even taking the goal out of the equation he won everything! Not a fan of Porteous at all, but today I thought he was excellent!!

Kayembe in the middle was superb. Looks a totally transformed player under Val!

Raj held the ball up well in fairness whilst he was on, Bayo unlucky not to win a free-kick on the edge of the box in injury time when he was assaulted!

    Game management 10/10!

Lovely to see loose canon Dan benched as well! Hoedt to be skipper permanently please!!

    Great week, onwards and upwards!

If it wasn't intended it's a horrendous pass!!

Hoedt has a wand of a left-foot, so we all know it was intentional.

Hamer and Hoedt were fantastic today. Brilliant. Overall the performance was our best away from home all season (granted, not much to judge it against), Excellent penalty save, and what a goal from Hoedt! Outstanding strike. Kone was good, Raj held the ball up well today and he's def improving in that area. We frustrated Hull all game, apart from their goal, they had a lot of possession but were short of chances bar long shots. Some cracking defensive performances and for once Porteous didn't lose us the game.

Four wins in eight, looking good and although we are very close to a possible playoff push, I think we need to just keep the clear heads the side have now and take it one game at a time. I didn't expect us to get anything out of that today, and credit the boys and VI for pulling off a great result and another three points on the road. Six from six since losing the to division leaders and we are getting pretty hard to beat which is obviously a good thing. VI still needs to make sure he makes subs at the right time in games, but VI set us up very well today and we compacted the pitch (second half more so) and restricted and frustrated them. Hoedt put in another great captain performance.

I will also add, when Hull got awarded the penalty the players did not argue once, stayed calm and just asked the ref to speak to the lino. More of that is needed in the game in general and full credit to the lads for doing that. Credit has to go the travelling faithful for making the long journey to Humberside. It must of been freezing cold, and they kept up with the support all game. Hope everyone has a safe journey back who did go.

Our next two games are by no means season-defining, but they are going to be very tough. Southampton and Ispwich are flying this season but I do not see us laying down and handing over six points from the two games. They are not unbeatable, but they will certainly be a real statement on how far we could possibly go this season.

What a result that was away from home. Correct me if this is inaccurate, but we are only the second team to win at Hull this season. I went to Hull last season and was embarrassed by what I saw; it was a wholly soulless and unenergetic performance. Today was the complete opposite and epitomised the difference in attitude and dedication this season in contrast to last season. Despite the goal we conceded, the centre-backs were excellent. I rarely remember seeing a Watford side so dominant in the air. I thought Lewis had a good game up and down the flank—plenty of energy and combativeness in the midfield. Kayembe and Kone impressed me again, although I felt Kone's legs had gone after 60 minutes. Although he didn't score today, I will argue that Rajovic had his best game in a Watford shirt today. He seems to have learned to control the ball, hold it up, and bring the midfielders into play.

That foul on Bayo at the end was a terrible decision and was arguably a straight red as Bayo would have been one on one with keeper .

Shame because the ref was excellent today .

Raj was doing alright , but he is so slow..

that tackle on Bayo was almost as insane as the goal, I have literally no idea how that wasn’t given.

Agreed, it was an awful decision.

Bayo absolute did his man and was through on goal. It was a cynical foul, deserved a red, and I'm honestly astonished none of the match officials spotted it.

Luckily it didn't change the match outcome.

Agreed about Rayo. If he can carry on improving his hold up play it justifies picking him when he doesn’t score .

If it's a standard pitch length it'll be 115yds long. So 57.5yds. Then the centre circle is a 10yd diameter. And he's within that. I'd say 50yds in a straight line, presumably longer on the diagonal to the position the ball crossed the line.

I'm still leaning towards Sarr's being better as it was more mediated and longer distance. However, Hoedt's was more accurate in the top corner and harder to get that dip though it seemed a litle more oppurtunistic than planned. He did look up beforehand though and was not by any means just a punt forward.

I mean, either way both are incredible strikes.

That was a great away performance today . We started well on the front foot and think we shaded the first half despite the disappointing goal we conceded .

Hull we’re the better side second half but great pen save from Hamer and a couple of other decent saves justifying his selection ( plus I feel he looks a bit more comfortable in posession than Bachmann . though early days to judge that )

I am really starting to like Kone. He gives it away a bit still , but his energy and drive is at the heart of everything now. What a stunning goal from Hoedt and a motm performance generally . Lewis is also improving thought that was one of his better displays as well.

As other people have pointed out , that was Rajovics best all round performance. He is beginning to actually hold the ball up and bring others into play, so encouraging to actually see an improvement there .

I’m not sure if I like the ‘bring on two centre backs’ sat the end substitution. . To be fair , It has seemed to work so far , but I think if may potentially invite pressure, with less of an out ball available.

I’m beginning to like this team now . My expectations of the season are still mid table but if we manage to get a few points out of the next couple of very rough fixtures then who knows .
